Description

The company runs a data platform that handles exabytes of heavy-duty data, combining files, objects and every workload across edge, core and cloud.

This senior technical role supports customer engagements in many industries and use cases. You will work with Sales and customers at every stage of the sales cycle, from early discovery through proof-of-concept, planning file storage and data management designs for varied workloads and environments.

Day to day, you work hands-on with infrastructure teams, storage admins, architects and application owners. You turn business and technical needs into solutions that scale across on-prem, hybrid and cloud, spanning file services, backup and archive, analytics, AI/ML and cloud-adjacent workloads.

The platform is built for the toughest enterprise workloads, including AI and HPC simulations, Splunk Observability, genomics, PACS medical imaging, geospatial data, media editing and rendering, and video surveillance. It unifies file and object storage across data centers, edge and public clouds.

The company has more than 1,100 customers and exabytes of data under management.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the technical side of customer deals, from discovery and demos through POCs to architecture sign-off.
  • Work with account teams to qualify opportunities and shape technical plans covering unstructured data, performance, scale and hybrid cloud.
  • Design and validate solutions for file services, backup and archive, analytics, AI/ML and cloud-adjacent applications.
  • Plan architectures for multi-site collaboration, cloud integration, disaster recovery and long-term data lifecycle.
  • Earn trust with infrastructure teams, storage administrators, architects and application owners.
  • Maintain the technical toolkit: reference architectures, demo content, solution briefs and competitive positioning.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in a customer-facing technical role such as Systems Engineer, Solutions Architect or Pre-Sales Engineer at a software, storage or technology company.
  • A proven record of running complex pre-sales engagements end to end, with results you can cite.
  • Solid grounding in enterprise storage, file systems and unstructured data management across on-prem and cloud, including NFS, SMB and object.
  • Hands-on experience supporting or selling hybrid cloud, cloud integration patterns or multi-cloud data management.
  • Skill in turning customer requirements into practical solution designs.
  • Clear written, verbal and presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences.
  • Highly regarded: customer work across several industries and workload types.
  • Highly regarded: experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, covering migration, tiering and data protection, and/or the wider storage market such as S3, Azure Files, Isilon, PowerScale, NetApp, Pure, VAST, Weka, Scality or similar.
  • Highly regarded: familiarity with containers, Kubernetes or DevOps workflows.
  • Highly regarded: knowledge of data protection, ransomware recovery, compliance and business continuity.
  • Highly regarded: experience with capacity planning, performance tuning and TCO analysis.

The role supports the Southeast Region, with a preference for candidates based in TN, GA or FL.

The annual pay range is USD $235,000 to $265,000 OTE, plus equity. Actual pay depends on role level, relevant experience and skills.
