Sr. Network Engineer

Description

The company's Enterprise IT sector is hiring a Senior Network Engineer, a full-time, regular role in the Information Technology category.

The work supports the Global Enterprise Network Modernization (GENMOD) contract and covers modernizing unclassified and classified base area networks, from site survey and design through installation, across ISP/OSP, network, voice, and WAN infrastructure.

The role requires a Secret clearance to start and travel of up to 50% within the continental US.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior engineer with experience across wired, wireless, and mobile broadband networks.
• Lead site surveys and guide the engineering team in designing the modernized network architecture.
• Review and analyze network management and monitoring tools to map topology, configuration, and bandwidth use.
• Help build network architectures, topology diagrams, and data flow diagrams in Visio for wired, wireless, and mobile broadband, with a focus on high availability and performance.
• Write the Engineering Implementation Plan (EIP) and its List of Materials (LOM).
• Provide technical level of effort (LOE) estimates for survey, design, and implementation so the resource-loaded schedule can be built.
• Join internal and external technical discussions and meetings, which may fall across several global time zones.
• Design, implement, and document secure network architectures, including STIG checklists, port, protocol, and service documentation, and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M), meeting DAF and DoD RMF standards.
• Make sure installations meet industry safety standards and leave sites clean and restored to their original or better condition.
• Design secure networks, systems, and application architectures.
• Prepare and give technical presentations to customers.
• Follow the company's ethics and compliance policies.
• Keep the work environment safe by following company EH&S policies and procedures.
• Take on other duties as required.
• Travel up to 50% of the time.

Requirements

• Required: a bachelor's degree (BA or BS) and 7+ years of related work experience.
• Required: DoD 8140 IAT II baseline certification, either CompTIA Security+ CE or CCNA-SEC.
• Required: CCNP/JNCP or an equivalent certification.
• Required: a current U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Required: experience using drawing tools such as Microsoft Visio or AutoCAD.
• Desired: experience supporting the OCONUS Army network.
• Desired: experience working with USFK and US Army network infrastructure in Korea.
• Desired: CISSP.

Conditions

The position depends on funding and may not be filled right away. It reflects roles the company regularly has open, and applicants may be considered for other openings at the company.

The salary range is $90,300-$189,600. Final pay depends on location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, prior experience, specific skills, education, and certifications.

Because the role can be based in more than one location, the posted range is the national average for the position.
