Description

The company runs an AI platform for storytelling and visual creation, used by millions of creators worldwide.

The team is extending that consumer product into features for teams and enterprises, so the work covers workspaces, billing, access control and security.

This is a full-stack role in the enterprise function. You will move between admin consoles, billing screens and workspace settings on the frontend, and the access control, usage metering, payment integrations and reliability work underneath them.

You will work with the founders to define what enterprise-ready means for an AI-native creative product, then build it.

Within 3 to 6 months, workspaces, roles and permissions should be live in production and used by paying teams.

Enterprise billing with usage metering, invoicing and procurement-friendly payments should be shipped and stable.

At least one enterprise deal should have closed largely because of features you built, such as SSO or audit logs.

SOC 2 groundwork should be underway, and you should be able to take a customer's security team through the company's security posture.

You should be setting the direction for enterprise engineering by proposing ideas, not waiting for specs.

The role suits someone who wants to build the platform that turns a consumer AI product into an enterprise business and take ownership of it from the start.

Responsibilities

  • Build the foundations for enterprise use: organizations and workspaces, role-based permissions (RBAC), SSO/SAML and audit logging.
  • Build usage-based billing, invoicing and payments for both self-serve customers and enterprise procurement, for example through Stripe.
  • Strengthen security and reliability to the standard enterprise buyers expect, covering access control, data isolation and groundwork for compliance certifications such as SOC 2.
  • Design scalable backend systems and APIs for multi-tenant, team-based usage.
  • Build clear, polished React and Next.js interfaces for admin, billing and workspace management.
  • Work directly with founders, sales and customers to turn deal-blocking requirements into shipped features.
  • Choose between building and buying infrastructure, such as billing, auth and compliance tooling, and explain the trade-offs clearly.
  • Set the first enterprise engineering practices as the function's first hire, and help shape the team that grows around you.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience, shipping and owning production systems at scale.
  • Strong system design and data modeling skills, with a clear grasp of APIs, permission models, multi-tenancy and data isolation.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud architecture, observability, scaling or reliability engineering.
  • A strong practice of AI-assisted coding with tools such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, and clear views on what makes them work well.
  • Product sense for B2B: you know what makes an admin console trustworthy to an IT buyer and a workspace easy for a team to use.
  • Strong communication skills, so you can join a customer security review or sales call and explain the technical trade-offs to non-technical colleagues.
  • Experience with payments or billing systems such as Stripe, including subscriptions, usage-based billing, invoicing and disputes.
  • Experience with security or compliance work such as SSO/SAML, RBAC, audit logging, or SOC 2 and GDPR groundwork.
  • Experience selling to or building for enterprise customers, including procurement and security reviews.
  • Startup experience, or ownership of a large product surface taken from 0 to 1.

Conditions

Total compensation of $500k+, including base salary, bonus and equity.

Equity, giving you meaningful ownership of what you build.

High autonomy in a fast-growing environment.

Bay Area preferred, with hybrid work available.

Visa sponsorship available.

Benefits

  • You will be the first engineer on a brand-new function with a clear mandate, as enterprise and team customers are one of the company's biggest growth levers and most of the supporting infrastructure is still unbuilt.
  • A small team with a large surface area, where senior engineers own whole systems rather than slices.
  • Real scale and real stakes: the platform serves millions of creators, and enterprise deals will be won or lost on what you ship.
  • A founder-led engineering culture, with both founders technical and closely involved in product and architecture.
  • An AI-native product, where you will help decide how cutting-edge models are packaged, governed and sold to teams and enterprises.
  • High ownership and little process, where judgment, clarity and speed matter more than bureaucracy.
