Description

The company is a partner for major global brands in engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing. It has 60 years of experience and more than 100 sites worldwide.

The team builds AI-assisted platforms for manufacturing tests and debugs automation software that directly affects work on the factory floor.

This is the Python & Java Full Stack Developer (AI-Capabilities) role. You will own features end to end across event-driven platforms: cloud infrastructure, backend services, an agentic LLM pipeline, and a modern web frontend.

LLMs are central to the product and AI coding agents are central to how it gets built, but the team uses agents as tools in the hands of skilled engineers, not as autopilots.

The role calls for precise requirements, critical review of agent output, and writing code yourself when the task needs it.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship features end to end across AWS infrastructure, Python and Java services, agentic LLM workflows, and an Angular frontend for a system serving manufacturing sites.
  • Build and improve agent workflows on Amazon Bedrock, including tool calling, RAG, prompt design, validation loops, and fallback paths that stay correct and observable under production load.
  • Write reusable agent skills, steering docs, and custom tools or MCP integrations that encode team standards and help agents work well in a large codebase.
  • Give agents the context they need, including conventions, contracts, and constraints, and check their output rather than accepting it as is.
  • Pair fast changes with testing, code review, and observability so they stay safe in production.
  • Build serverless backends in Python on Lambda, along with event-driven flows.
  • Build Java microservices on Spring Boot or Quarkus, with REST and event-driven APIs, persistence, async pipelines, and message-bus integration.
  • Design idempotency, retries, and dead-letter handling into every service.
  • Define and change AWS CDK infrastructure across multiple stacks that reference each other.
  • Keep published APIs backward compatible by using shared interface and schema libraries across services and clients.
  • Build log chunking, embeddings, semantic search in OpenSearch, and relevance ranking.
  • Add CloudWatch dashboards, alarms, tracing, and structured diagnostic events, and run your own CI/CD on Azure DevOps with gated, reversible rollouts.
  • Change shared foundational code that many services depend on, keeping each change narrow and well tested.

Requirements

  • Strong Python skills: modern typing, async patterns, data validation such as Pydantic, clean error handling, and a sense of structure across a large codebase.
  • Deep experience with Spring Boot and/or Quarkus, clean architecture, and idiomatic use of the Java type system.
  • Hands-on serverless work on AWS across Lambda, ECS Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, OpenSearch, VPC, VPC Endpoints, private API Gateway, EventBridge, IAM, IAM Roles Anywhere, Amazon Bedrock, CloudWatch, SSM Parameter Store, and ECR assets.
  • Persistence work with JPA/Hibernate, JDBC, and transaction management, including DynamoDB access-pattern modeling and relational design, management, and query tuning.
  • Production REST services, with attention to versioning and backward compatibility.
  • Java virtual threads (Project Loom) and clear reasoning about concurrency correctness.
  • Microservices on a message bus such as NATS.io, Kafka, or SQS, handling idempotency, retries, and failures.
  • Experience building LLM applications with function calling, prompt design, RAG, and embeddings, and evaluating output quality. Specifying and validating agent behavior is the hard part.
  • Daily, measured use of AI coding agents such as Claude or Kiro, with spec-driven workflows and reusable skills, plus the fundamentals to review their output critically.
  • Angular and TypeScript for building and maintaining a web UI that consumes these APIs.
  • Unit and integration testing, and mocking, as a routine part of shipping.
  • Docker, Docker Swarm, and Kubernetes.
  • Git, Azure DevOps pipelines, and code review in a large multi-repo codebase.
  • Blue/green, canary, gated rollout, and rollback deployment strategies.
  • Structured logging, tracing, and metrics; secure coding and auth basics; and building and consuming analytics on operational data.
  • A BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of software development experience with enterprise server, storage, or networking products.

Conditions

The team uses AI coding agents such as Claude and Kiro, and Kiro is the main tool. Engineers are expected to be able to do the work without them.

The team wants developers who have built software without AI, understand what it can and cannot do, and know when to write code themselves.

The hard part is defining requirements precisely and rigorously validating output, not generating code.

You can read, debug, and correct generated code as easily as you can produce it, and you can justify an architecture decision without pointing to a tool.

Specs are the source of truth: break features into requirements, design, and task lists that people and agents both work from, and keep revising them.

The pay range is $100,100 - $180,200. The actual offer depends on qualifications, experience, location, education, external market data, and internal equity.

The role is eligible for a short-term performance-based incentive as part of total rewards.

The requisition is expected to close on November 08, 2026.

The company does not ask for payment at any stage of hiring and will not request personal identifying details such as a social security number or passport information by phone or email.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, prescription drug, and vision insurance, with HRA and HSA options.
  • 401(k) match and an employee stock purchase plan.
  • Paid time off, accruing at 3.07 hours during the first year.
  • 4 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • In 2027, 11 company-paid holidays: 9 fixed and 2 optional floating. The schedule may change yearly.
  • Tuition reimbursement.
  • Life, AD&D, and disability insurance.
  • Commuter benefits and an employee assistance program.
  • Pet insurance and adoption assistance.
  • Annual merit increases.
