Description

The company is OpenArt, an AI creative platform for visual storytelling used by millions of people worldwide. The team is building an AI creative partner, built on top of leading models, that lets anyone make videos, images, characters and full stories quickly.

The product is meant to work as a partner rather than a generator of single clips. It should understand what someone is aiming for, work alongside them, and help them finish, whether the goal is one post, a campaign or a film.

Responsibilities

  • Own the screens that move people from visitor to creator and from creator to paying customer: onboarding, first-run experience, paywalls, upgrade prompts, pricing, credits and checkout.
  • Take responsibility for the work from first sketch through to a tested experiment.
  • Design the first few minutes a new user spends in the product, guiding them from not knowing where to begin to a first result they feel good about, based on what they set out to make.
  • Translate business targets such as activation, conversion, expansion and retention into design hypotheses.
  • Design and analyse experiments alongside growth product managers and data colleagues, then refine whatever shifts the metric.
  • Make pricing, plans and credits easy to grasp at a glance, for individuals and for teams alike. Clear pricing should persuade without misleading.
  • Teach through the interface: surface useful information at the right moment and let people see what the product can do rather than read about it.
  • Turn successful variants into lasting product that fits the rest of the platform, and build reusable patterns so each new experiment takes less effort.
  • The company's values are ownership and impact, curiosity and growth, collaboration and openness, and human-centred design. Design here shapes strategy as well as visuals, the team tests ideas quickly and shares work early, and ideas and feedback come from engineers, founders and the AI itself.
  • Warmth matters in AI products, so the team puts care into small moments such as empty states, microcopy and what happens when something fails.

Requirements

  • You have improved a revenue or activation metric through design work on onboarding, paywalls, pricing or checkout, and can show the figures before and after.
  • You understand experiments: you can write hypotheses, build variants, judge sample sizes and read results honestly, including the ones that lose.
  • You produce polished UI quickly, delivering one strong variant in a week and ten more within the month.
  • You use AI daily, for prototyping in code, Claude, Figma Make or similar tools, and you have clear views on where it helps.
  • You want to know what actually happened, not only whether something shipped.
  • You would rather learn from a live test than argue over a mockup.
  • You bring design input early when working with product and marketing partners.
  • You stay steady through a run of failed experiments and treat each one as useful information.
  • You explain why a change should improve conversion, not just that it looks better.
  • Ideal candidates have owned onboarding, pricing or paywalls on a consumer or prosumer product and can name the number they moved. They write their own copy, treat an empty state as a design brief, work comfortably in a weekly experiment rhythm without losing craft, and are excited by creators, storytelling and the moment someone makes their first piece with AI.

Conditions

Based in the Bay Area, working full-time either on-site or hybrid.

You will work closely with founders and the global engineering team.

Visa sponsorship is available.

The company gets millions of visits a month to AI creative tools, and most people drop off at the prompt box. The team is building an agent to remove that barrier. Your work covers the moment just after, when someone first describes what they want and receives something they are proud of. Growth is built into how the product is designed from the start, and you will shape that first impression.

Candidates should send their resume and portfolio to the hiring contact listed in the original posting.
