Description

The company runs a digital marketplace that connects manufacturers with buyers at Fortune 1000 companies, giving manufacturers tools to grow and giving buyers access to global manufacturing capacity. It is listed on NASDAQ.

This is a senior technical advisory role for prospects and customers. You combine deep engineering knowledge with business judgment to propose solutions to real manufacturing problems. You work alongside the Sales team as the technical voice in customer conversations, handling objections, building trust in the company's capabilities, and helping customers reach the right manufacturing solution sooner.

The role sits in a startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Run discovery conversations with Sales to find business and technical needs and match them to the company's solutions.
  • Act as the technical link between molding teams and the customer.
  • Advise prospects and customers on where the company's technology fits and build the business case.
  • Demonstrate the company's capabilities, including its software quoting platform, in a way that works for both engineers and executives.
  • Work with product, sales, quoting, and engineering teams, passing customer insight back into the business and helping produce case studies and marketing materials.
  • Represent the company as a thought leader at events, webinars, and within the injection molding community.
  • Serve as the internal expert on injection molding and related processes, so the wider team can speak credibly about tooling, mold design, and process capability.
  • Manage projects and provide oversight on complex opportunities.

Requirements

  • Hands-on, floor-level manufacturing experience in injection molding, compression molding, overmolding, and insert molding. Strongly preferred.
  • Strong communicator and outgoing in person, able to discuss details with a mold designer and then present to executives.
  • Technical empathy: you listen first, understand the customer's underlying problem rather than only the stated request, and translate between technical and business language for both audiences.
  • Consultative approach: you ask why before proposing what.
  • Experience preparing technical solutions and presenting them within business proposals.
  • Self-motivated, able to manage several long-term projects with little oversight in a startup.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships.
  • Engineering degree or a related technical degree. Mechanical or Plastics preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or a technical field.
  • Demonstrated project management and presentation skills.
  • CAD and technical drawing experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in some of the following: New Product Development, Materials Science, Plastics Engineering, GD&T, Mold Design, ISO Certifications, PPAP & Inspection.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English, at a masterful level.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Conditions

Base salary for new hires is estimated at $101,000-$150,000 per year, plus commission. Final pay depends on job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.

Hybrid work model.

Travel of up to 20% is required.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and considers all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status.

Benefits

  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life and disability insurance.
  • Generous paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, floating and fixed holidays, and maternity and bonding leave.
  • Employee assistance program and other wellbeing resources.
  • Additional benefits beyond those listed.
