Description

The company runs a digital marketplace that connects buyers, including Fortune 1000 companies, with manufacturers and their capacity worldwide. Manufacturers use it to grow their business.

This role is a trusted technical advisor to prospects and customers. You combine hands-on engineering knowledge with business judgment to propose solutions to real manufacturing problems. You work alongside Sales as the technical voice in customer conversations, anticipating objections, building trust in the company's capabilities, and helping customers reach the right manufacturing solution sooner.

The company is a hybrid working team.

Responsibilities

  • Run discovery conversations with Sales to find business and technical needs and match them to company solutions.
  • Act as the technical link between molding teams and the customer.
  • Advise prospects and customers on where the company's technology fits and build the business case.
  • Demonstrate the company's capabilities, including its software quoting platform, in ways that appeal to both engineers and executives.
  • Work with product, sales, quoting, and engineering teams, passing customer insight back to the business and contributing to case studies and marketing materials.
  • Represent the company as an industry thought leader at events, webinars, and within the injection molding community.
  • Be the internal expert on injection molding and related processes, helping colleagues discuss tooling, mold design, and process capability credibly with customers.
  • Manage projects and oversee complex opportunities.

Requirements

  • Real manufacturing and process experience in injection molding, compression molding, overmolding, and insert molding. Hands-on, shop-floor experience is strongly preferred.
  • Clear, outgoing communicator who can hold a detailed technical discussion with a mold designer and also present to executives.
  • Technical empathy: you listen first, understand the customer's underlying problem rather than just the request, and translate between technical and business language for both audiences.
  • Consultative approach: you ask why before proposing what.
  • Experience writing and presenting technical solutions within business proposals.
  • Self-motivated, able to manage several long-term projects with little oversight in a fast-paced startup.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a knack for building relationships.
  • Engineering degree (Mechanical or Plastics preferred) or a related technical degree.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or a technical field.
  • Proven project management and presentation skills.
  • CAD and technical drawing experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in some of the following: new product development, materials science, plastics engineering, GD&T, mold design, ISO certifications, PPAP and inspection.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English, at a masterful level.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
