Description

The company runs a digital marketplace that connects people with product ideas to manufacturers, giving manufacturers resources to grow and giving buyers at large companies access to global manufacturing capacity.

This role is a technical advisor to prospects and customers. You combine hands-on engineering knowledge with business judgment to recommend solutions to real manufacturing problems.

You work alongside the Sales team as the technical voice in customer conversations, anticipating objections, showing the company's capabilities, and helping customers reach the right manufacturing solution sooner.

Responsibilities

  • Run discovery conversations with Sales to learn the business and technical needs and match them to the company's solutions.
  • Act as the technical contact between molding teams and the customer.
  • Advise prospects and customers on where the company's technology fits, and build the business case.
  • Demonstrate the company's capabilities, including its software quoting platform, in terms that engineers and executives both understand.
  • Work with product, sales, quoting, and engineering teams, passing customer insight back to the business and contributing to case studies and marketing material.
  • Represent the company as a thought leader at events, webinars, and within the injection molding community.
  • Be the internal expert on injection molding and related processes, helping colleagues discuss tooling, mold design, and process capability credibly with customers.
  • Manage complex opportunities, including project planning and oversight.

Requirements

  • Hands-on manufacturing and process experience in injection molding, compression molding, overmolding, and insert molding. Floor-level experience is strongly preferred.
  • An outgoing communicator who can handle a detailed technical discussion with a mold designer and then present to executives.
  • Technical empathy: you listen first, identify the customer's real problem rather than just the stated request, and translate between technical and business language.
  • A consultative approach: you ask why before proposing what.
  • Experience preparing and presenting technical solutions within business proposals.
  • Self-motivated, able to manage several long-term projects with little oversight in a fast-moving startup.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a knack for building relationships.
  • An engineering degree, preferably in Mechanical or Plastics, or another related technical degree.
  • 5 to 7+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or a technical field.
  • Demonstrated project management and presentation skills.
  • CAD and technical drawing experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in some of the following: new product development, materials science, plastics engineering, GD&T, mold design, ISO certifications, PPAP and inspection.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with full command of English.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Conditions

Estimated base salary for new hires is $101,000 to $150,000 per year, plus commission. Final pay depends on job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.

Hybrid work model.

Equal opportunity employer. All applicants are considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status.

Benefits

  • 401(k) match, medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance.
  • Generous paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, floating and fixed holidays, and maternity and bonding leave.
  • EAP and other wellbeing resources, plus more.
