Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Description

The company runs a digital marketplace that connects buyers, including teams at Fortune 1000 firms, with manufacturers and gives those manufacturers tools to grow their business.

The team is looking for a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to join its Site Reliability Engineering organization as a senior individual contributor.

The role sets the reliability and performance direction for infrastructure and software systems, and builds scalable infrastructure so engineers can ship features to customers quickly and safely.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the hardest cross-cutting technical problems and see them through, keeping them aligned with company goals.
• Set the long-term technical roadmap and strategy for core SRE platforms and services.
• Scope and lead major engineering initiatives, weighing effort, risk, and long-term business impact.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented code, with a focus on improving core systems and features.
• Keep technical and executive stakeholders informed about progress, blockers, and results.
• Mentor engineers across the organization and drive adoption of best practices in operational excellence, observability, and infrastructure security.
• Show accountability, curiosity, and a habit of continuous improvement.
• Build, configure, and maintain the platforms that deployed software runs on, including AWS accounts and networking and Kubernetes clusters, with a focus on architecture and scaling.
• Build, configure, and maintain observability and monitoring tools such as Coralogix and Sentry, including defining SLOs and SLIs.
• Build, configure, and maintain CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions runners and ArgoCD.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of professional experience in infrastructure management or backend software development, ideally in a fast-paced, product-driven setting.
• Deep technical skill in at least one of Python, JavaScript, or Unix Shell.
• Extensive experience with AWS, including architecting, deploying, monitoring, and scaling production workloads across multiple accounts and regions.
• Deep expertise with Terraform, Kubernetes, advanced CI/CD pipelines, and Docker and containerization best practices.
• A track record of leading technical projects with significant cross-functional impact.
• Comfortable in an operational environment, including serving as the escalation point for complex issues outside the on-call schedule.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with confidence engaging technical and executive stakeholders.

Conditions

Estimated base salary for new hires is $165,000 to $190,000 per year, plus bonus, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.

The role is hybrid.
