Field Application Engineer II

Description

Exempt, salaried role in the Sales department.

You will be the main technical resource for the field sales team, driving the technology evaluation stage of the sales process and acting as a key technical adviser and product champion alongside sales and engineering.

You will find dependable answers to technical problems so customers stay satisfied.

You will compare customer technical needs against the approved cryogenic equipment solutions. If none fit, you will work with other functions to build a solution that does.

The role calls for deep knowledge of the company's products and strong people skills to build customer relationships and lead project teams.

Responsibilities

• Keep expert-level knowledge of the company's products, especially cryogenic equipment, services and field applications.
• Explain cryogenic technology and how the products are positioned, for both business and technical audiences.
• Help sales choose the cryogenic solutions that deliver the most value to customers.
• Listen to customers, understand their requirements and pass them on accurately.
• Work with customers and company staff throughout the sale and delivery.
• Handle the technical and functional parts of RFIs and RFPs.
• Help develop technical solutions for specific constraints in customer field applications.
• Gather field data on customer needs to shape new solutions and offerings, and work across teams to deliver them as the organization changes.
• Deliver technical and product training to sales staff and customers.
• Take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering, or another relevant technical field.
• At least 3 years of related work experience.
• A record of building technical solutions across varied settings with many constraints.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to quality without compromise.
• Analytical thinking and close attention to detail.
• Ability to manage complex projects and handle several tasks at once.
• Reliable follow-through.
• Self-driven and motivated.
• Works well in a team.
• Skill with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook as the role requires.
• Preferred: experience integrating technical solutions in the field for customer stakeholders.
• Preferred: experience in cryogenic storage, transportation and processing.
• Preferred: experience with industrial gas suppliers, processors or logistics.
• Preferred: experience in industrial applications using LH2, LNG, LIN, LOX, LAR, LCO2 or similar.
• Preferred: experience with high pressure systems at 250 bar and above.
• Preferred: experience with gas processing or dispensing equipment.
• Preferred: experience in logistics, transportation or material handling.
• Desirable: prior sales experience.
• Desired: Salesforce experience.

Conditions

Pay range is $79,200.00 to $118,800.00.

Base salary depends on factors such as education, experience, skills and geography, and is set when an offer is made.

The pay range may not reflect local geographic pay differences. HR can discuss any applicable differential.

Travel up to 40% of the time as the role requires.
