Description

The role is a Field Application Engineer II in the sales department, based in Spain and fully remote.

The Field Application Engineer is the main technical resource for the European sales team and leads the technology evaluation stage of the sales process.

You will act as the key technical adviser and product advocate, working with sales and engineering to solve technical issues and keep customers satisfied.

You will check customer technical requirements against approved electrolyser solutions. Where those solutions do not fit, you will work with cross-functional teams to find one that does.

The role calls for building a firm technical understanding of the company's products and requirements, along with strong interpersonal skills for customer relations and leading project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Keep expert-level technical knowledge of the company's products, mainly electrolyser systems, fuel cell systems, infrastructure and field applications.
  • Join sales meetings and support the team by explaining electrolyser systems, fuel cell systems and infrastructure technology and positioning to both business and technical audiences.
  • Listen to customers, understand their requirements and pass them on accurately.
  • Help the sales team identify where fuel cell, infrastructure or electrolyser solutions would give customers the most benefit.
  • Help set realistic expectations for solution rollouts between customer stakeholders and the company's project teams.
  • Answer the functional and technical parts of RFIs and RFPs.
  • Help develop technical solutions for specific constraints in customer field applications.
  • Deliver technical and product training to sales staff and customers.
  • Gather field data on customer needs to support the design of new solutions, and work across teams to deliver new solutions and product offerings as the organisation grows.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree (BS) in mechanical engineering or another relevant engineering field.
  • At least 3+ years of related work experience. Experience integrating technical solutions in the field for customer stakeholders is preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop technical solutions in varied environments with many constraints.
  • Experience in industrial markets such as automotive, aeronautics, or oil and gas.
  • Strong computer and software skills relevant to the role, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Uncompromising commitment to quality.
  • Analytical ability and close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and handle several tasks at once.
  • Excellent follow-through, and the drive to work on your own initiative.
  • A team-oriented approach.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is essential. Other languages are a strong plus.
  • Desirable: experience in hydrogen, fuel cells or electrolysers; industrial gas; cryogenics; high-pressure systems (250 bar and up); gas processing or dispensing equipment; oil and gas, CNG or LNG.
  • Up to 50% travel is required to carry out the role.

Conditions

Location: Spain, remote.

Travel: up to 50% as needed.

Equal opportunity: candidates are encouraged to apply even if their experience does not match every qualification.
