Solutions Engineer/Architect

Description

The company builds a loading dock sensor platform that checks every incoming and outgoing shipment and gathers data on freight movement. Shippers and carriers use this data to manage dock work, change suppliers and track material flow in real time.

The company is working to connect physical freight with the digital systems that manage it, and to make logistics safer and more efficient. You will help build and roll out new hardware and software for the logistics sector.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients and internal teams to map how the client operates before and after the company is installed. Maps include process maps, flow charts, spaghetti diagrams and photos of the cargo and freight types the client handles.
• Join customer meetings with Account Executives and Client Operations to collect the data needed for implementation. Tasks may include ROI calculations, writing up deliverables, and suggesting process and efficiency improvements.
• Provide industrial and software engineering support to improve the company's computer vision, machine learning, software stack and compute. Support field work for current and future customers to make operations more efficient before and after installation. This may include:
• Improve how the company towers are shipped and installed.
• Work with Hardware, Software and Field Service teams to place towers so they make the best use of warehouse floor space.
• Map inbound and outbound facility processes, such as shipment creation, scheduling, driver check-in and check-out, and operational reporting, to show current and future operations more clearly.
• Find ways to improve the company software features and automate document and data intake, digitization and validation.
• Find accuracy gaps that tie to the company's product value. Map technical integration specs from client systems of record to the company's software stack.
• Attend Client Solutions meetings to help improve work across the client base.
• Work with partners and system integrators, sharing product, business and technical knowledge to support product strategy.
• Design more complex solutions that meet more complex business requirements.
• Explain the value and ROI behind our solutions.
• Build and run detailed and high-level product demos, from set demo scripts or free-form presentations.
• Manage and work within a dedicated demo environment.
• Help the team grow and shape product strategy within a collaborative setting.
• Help improve the design and operations of the company's products.
• Travel about 50% of the time.

Requirements

• Preferably 5+ years in a customer-facing technical solutions role.
• Preferably knowledge of supply chain needs in food and beverage, 3PL and/or complex distribution, including systems such as WMS, TMS, ERP and other automation tools.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• A problem-solving mindset and strong listening skills.
• Experience with and proficiency in Atlassian Suite, Figma, Datadog and other productivity tools is ideal.
• Preferably a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, engineering or a similar field, or equivalent experience.

Conditions

Travel about 50% of the time is required.
