Description

The company is the company, a financial technology platform that provides payments, data and financial products in one solution for businesses such as Meta, Uber, H&M and Microsoft.

The team is the EMEA payments team, where local payment methods meet global reach and the goal is to help leading merchants get paid across the region through the methods shoppers prefer.

The main focus is the domestic card schemes, the local alternatives to Visa and Mastercard. They are cheaper and in several markets perform better, giving merchants a concrete reason to choose and stay with the company.

The schemes are already live and performing well. The main challenge is driving adoption and continuing to innovate as payment developments arrive.

The role also covers team-wide strategic payments topics that span several payment methods, where a senior product manager sets direction rather than following it.

The wider team is taking on new challenges that call for strong product leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Define the vision and roadmap for the domestic card schemes and help shape the wider payment method portfolio, balancing merchant demand, margin, support load and market deadlines.
  • Make clear trade-offs when priorities compete.
  • Manage roadmap alignment, specification changes and escalations with scheme operators and partners.
  • Write clear product requirements and work with engineering on connections, tokenisation, Tap to Pay and authentication flows.
  • Deliver time-critical launches with a clear plan, named owners and a risk log.
  • Lead strategic, cross-payment-method topics as the team's priorities change, taking them from idea to launch.
  • Work with sales, account management and pricing to show how local schemes compare with global ones.
  • Define success metrics such as authorisation rate, cost and adoption, and review them regularly.
  • Align engineering, in-person payments, e-commerce payments, partner engineering, partnerships and operations, and bring trade-offs to leadership early.

Requirements

  • You have at least 8 years of product management experience in payments or fintech.
  • You understand card processing well, including how schemes, acquirers, hosts and terminals connect.
  • You can read API and message specifications such as ISO 8583, talk architecture with engineers, and judge effort and risk yourself.
  • You turn open-ended questions into a clear direction and roadmap, and you want to work on topics beyond your core area.
  • You build strong relationships with external partners and schemes, and you can say no and set expectations.
  • You think commercially and with data: you can explain the margin, performance and cost effects of a decision and measure the outcome.
  • You have led through influence across many workstreams, markets and time zones.
  • You write clearly, including product requirement documents that engineers and agents can act on.
