Description

Regulators now expect more, so the company is tightening its business governance and building a consistent control environment worldwide. To support this, it set up an Enterprise Data group.

Enterprise Data sits in the first line of defense for wholesale and counterparty credit risk. It works alongside Independent Risk teams to keep risk and controls at a high standard while staying responsive to clients.

The group covers credit analysis, documentation, risk identification, exposure monitoring and stress testing. It works with credit management teams across institutional client businesses to align on business and regulatory goals and to share consistent practices.

Within Enterprise Data, the Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) project team builds tools to analyse, measure, monitor and control counterparty risk for institutional clients, portfolios and businesses. The focus is counterparty and collateral risk, handled in line with the firm's risk policies. The work calls for quantitative or qualitative analysis to solve business problems and design new approaches.

You will have real autonomy and work closely with other functions in a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Own strategic business-as-usual and regulatory projects that mainly affect counterparty exposure measures for the traded products business.
  • Build and improve tools that measure, monitor and report counterparty exposure, including stress testing, Net Stressed Exposure, Potential Future Exposure, settlement risk and intraday risk. Take part in project management of strategic risk infrastructure.
  • Coordinate closely with front office sales and trading, in-business risk managers, second line risk managers and senior risk stakeholders.
  • Run the full project or product development lifecycle: maintain the book of work, scope releases, track business priorities, define business requirements and plan UAT with regulatory and compliance needs in mind.
  • Analyse data, document current and target states, gather requirements, draft BRDs, and carry out UAT and impact analysis.
  • Work with all stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely risk management and reporting.
  • Partner with senior team members and a large, geographically spread user base to define and build solutions.
  • Track CCR data and methodology issues, produce weekly metrics and set remediation plans for system enhancements.
  • Work with technology to understand infrastructure gaps, systems and data flows. Document gaps and recommend improvements for the target state.
  • Report key findings and issues to senior management and give regular status updates.
  • Prepare presentations and documents for internal and regulatory audiences on deliverables in your area.

Requirements

  • You have 5+ years of experience in financial services and banking.
  • You have delivered projects end to end and are comfortable using a range of analytical tools.
  • You understand financial market products, including bilateral and cleared derivatives, securities financing transactions (SFTs), margin lending and financing.
  • You know counterparty credit risk concepts, data, system integration and processes.
  • You understand counterparty exposure metrics: Net Stressed Exposure, Factor Sensitivities, Potential Future Exposure, Settlement Exposure and Intraday exposure.
  • You are strong at project management and business analysis.
  • You communicate well in writing and verbally, and manage stakeholders effectively.
  • You are analytical, solve problems well and pay close attention to detail.
  • You work well with cross-functional teams across business, risk, technology and compliance.
  • You can collaborate with and clearly explain things to senior people in the organisation.
  • You are results-oriented and motivated, with an interest in data quality projects.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in finance, technology, economics or a related field is preferred.
