Description

OpenArt is an AI creative platform for visual storytelling, used by millions of people around the world. The team is building an AI creative partner that runs on leading models, letting anyone make videos, images, characters and full stories at a speed that once needed a studio.

The team believes AI-made creativity should start from the AI itself. The aim is a partner that grasps what you are going for, works next to you, and helps you finish the whole project, whether that is one post, a campaign or a film. The mission is to help creators turn their ideas into reality, and this role helps shape that direction.

Responsibilities

  • Design where a creator's work lives, including how they arrange it, how they find it again, and how a team edits it together.
  • Make the product work for teams as well as individuals: shared workspaces, roles and permissions, review and approval, and shared brand assets. Feedback should sit beside the item it refers to.
  • Make team management part of the product itself, showing who has joined, what each person can access, and what was made and how. A creative director should be able to manage this without asking IT.
  • Give each asset a proper home with organization, tags, versions and the context that normally gets lost, so one approved visual can grow into a consistent campaign.
  • Design at the system level. A share sheet, permission or tag should behave the same way everywhere, so one fix solves a whole group of problems.
  • Design for both people and the agent. The agent uses the same panels, forms and canvas as people do, so a clear, consistent interface for people also serves the agent.

Requirements

  • Systems thinking: you have restructured a product so one pattern solved many problems, and you can explain the result.
  • Experience with workspaces, editors or spatial tools: you have designed something people organize, return to and build on.
  • Experience with collaboration and permissions: you have shipped sharing, roles or review, and you know where multiplayer becomes difficult.
  • Experience serving both the person who makes the work and the person who manages or pays for it, without neglecting either.
  • Strong UI craft that is polished and deliberate, with clarity as the goal.
  • Regular use of AI tools in your practice, such as prototyping in code, Claude, Figma Make or similar, with a clear view of where they help.
  • Product mindset: you care how the whole product fits together, not only your screens.
  • Patience with systems: you can keep a structure steady while everything around it changes quickly.
  • You can turn an unclear problem into a clear structure.
  • You welcome feedback and enjoy building with others.
  • You communicate well and can explain why a structure is right, not just how it looks.
  • Ideal candidates have built a place where people keep their work, such as a workspace, canvas or library, and made it feel personal to each user.
  • Ideal candidates have shipped sharing, roles or review in a collaborative creative tool and can name what they got wrong at first.
  • Ideal candidates answer a request for one screen with a pattern that covers the next ten.
  • Ideal candidates care about creators and storytelling and want a team's work to feel as alive as an individual's.

Most AI tools leave your work as a long scroll history, and a team's work becomes several of them. The team believes the tool that gives AI-made work a proper home, for one person or a whole team, is where professionals will build their businesses. That is a design problem first. If you want to design the place people keep work they are proud of, and do it together, this role fits.
