The company builds quantum processors on its own QPU architecture, aiming at hyper-scale quantum computers.

This is a senior role covering MES and automation for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and factory systems.

You will design, build, configure, integrate, test, deploy and support these solutions, working with IT, Engineering, Production and other stakeholders so that equipment and systems are integrated, digitally controlled, traceable and dependable in operation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage MES master data structures and the manufacturing workflows that depend on them.
  • Build and maintain MES process flows and routing configurations.
  • Configure Constraint Management and Dispatch Management, and support Special Engineering and Design of Experiments (DOE) work.
  • Take MES solutions through design, development, configuration, testing, deployment and support.
  • Support links between MES, manufacturing equipment, databases and other factory systems.
  • Investigate MES faults, run root cause analysis and drive ongoing improvements.
  • Develop and maintain SECS/GEM interfaces for semiconductor equipment, and build and customise SECS/GEM templates.
  • Characterise equipment and tools, validate automation, and build custom automation interlocks, including for equipment with limited VIDs.
  • Simulate, test, troubleshoot and deploy automation, and support SECS-I, HSMS and SECS/GEM connectivity.
  • Support semiconductor equipment integration and factory automation projects.
  • Connect MES, automation, equipment and factory systems so manufacturing runs reliably.
  • Coordinate with automation, IT, production, engineering and equipment teams on integrated solutions.
  • Support interfaces with ERP, SCADA, PLC, Historian and other Manufacturing IT systems.
  • Develop and support APIs, web services and enterprise system integrations.
  • Contribute to Industry 4.0, Digital Manufacturing and Smart Factory initiatives.
  • Manage technical deliverables, timelines, risks, testing, deployment and documentation across several MES and automation projects at once, keeping quality and schedules on track.
  • Write technical documentation, specifications, test plans, validation records and test reports.
  • Troubleshoot systems and equipment, run root cause analysis and support continuous improvement.
  • Support deployment and production ramp-up of new manufacturing systems and automation.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of MES architecture, manufacturing processes and system integration.
  • Practical experience with MES master data, flow creation, Constraint Management, Dispatch Management and DOE.
  • Practical experience with SECS-I, HSMS and SECS/GEM.
  • Background in semiconductor equipment automation, factory automation and equipment and tool integration.
  • Experience with equipment characterisation, automation simulation, testing and validation, and with custom automation and interlock development.
  • Working knowledge of database concepts and system interfaces.
  • Experience with APIs, web services and enterprise integrations.
  • Experience with C++, C,.NET, Java, Python, JavaScript and/or other modern development technologies.
  • Experience with Oracle or SQL databases and object-oriented programming.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in MES, automation, manufacturing systems or a related engineering field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on work in SECS/GEM development, template creation, equipment automation or semiconductor equipment integration.
  • Proven record of taking MES or automation projects from design through deployment and production support.
  • Experience with several equipment types, manufacturing systems or automation platforms.
  • Candidates who do not meet every requirement are encouraged to apply and learn the gaps; the list describes the ideal profile rather than a strict filter.
