Senior QA Automation Engineer - 100% (f/m/d)

Description

The company is a wealth management firm, and this full-time role (100%) sits in an Agile team building its software.

You will be the embedded QA automation engineer, owning test design, automation and quality for the team.

Responsibilities

• Define the test concept and specify, manage, execute and document tests, favouring automation and the agreed process standards.
• Coordinate and monitor test activities against quality, deadlines and costs.
• Drive every software quality aspect for the team, from development through to acceptance testing.
• Design test cases that cover the requirements and acceptance criteria, then run them.
• Find candidates for automation and automate them in Playwright with TypeScript, at UI or API level.
• Carry out manual testing when needed, including stretches where it becomes your main task.
• Create or organise the test data you need.
• Keep the regression suite current by adding, removing and updating cases.
• Run tests and record the results in a way that stands up to audit.
• Read and write some Java or C code when the work requires it.
• Manage defects.

Requirements

• Experience working in an Agile team is mandatory; experience in a DevOps setup is a strong advantage.
• Experience leading or supporting all testing work in an Agile team, from development to acceptance testing.
• Strong test case design skills, ensuring full coverage of requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Experience with risk-based testing.
• At least 5 years of test automation for both UI and API.
• Comfortable doing manual testing, including periods where it is the primary task.
• Able to explore a database on your own to find relevant test data.
• Good working knowledge of Jira; basic XRAY knowledge is a plus.
• Cloud technologies, web application architecture and banking knowledge in Client Lifecycle Management are welcome but not required.
• Business-level English at C1 or C2; fluent Spanish is a big plus.
• A BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification is a plus.
• You are accurate, reliable, proactive and motivated, and you handle setbacks well.
• You enjoy teamwork and flexibility, and you work with others to solve complex problems.
• You care deeply about the quality of the project.
