Senior HPC Support Engineer - Ethernet and AI Infrastructure

Description

The company is hiring a senior support engineer for Ethernet and AI infrastructure. The role sits in the global technical support group and centers on one major customer, with work both on site and remotely.

You will be that customer's main contact for installing, maintaining and operating the company's networking products, including its end-to-end AI networking platform.

The work combines hands-on problem solving, regular collaboration with engineering, marketing and support, and writing repeatable methods for other teams.

Responsibilities

• Investigate customer problems through careful research and reproduction, then fix them on Linux systems across several distributions, focusing on Ethernet switching and end-to-end AI networking solutions.
• Answer product support questions by phone, email and conference call.
• Solve issues that come up during installation, daily operation, maintenance, product use, and interoperability with other vendors' equipment.
• Take part in cross-team meetings and share feedback with engineering and marketing on product needs, customer experience and support tooling.
• Write and refine standard methods for the support and R&D teams to follow.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on customer support and debugging for hardware and software products.
• A degree from an accredited university or college in networking, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or IT, or equivalent experience.
• Proven use of established AI tools in your daily work.
• Experience with enterprise systems engineering, Linux triage, server work, and fixing hardware or OS-level faults.
• Curious, positive, flexible, analytical and self-driven, with a team mindset and strong written, spoken and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to own and lead the resolution of any critical customer issue, whatever the circumstances.
• Strong enterprise-level networking knowledge, covering TCP, UDP, Ethernet, IP, L2 and L3 protocols such as ARP, STP, LACP, MLAG, IGMP, PIM, BGP and OSPF, along with routing.
• Comfort with Linux administration and networking tasks, at LFCS or RHCSA level.
• Skilled at debugging protocols with tcpdump, Wireshark or similar tools.
• Deep grasp of at least two areas: data centers, servers, distributed systems, virtualization, deep learning frameworks, or containers such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Daily use of AI assistants such as Cursor, Gemini, ChatGPT, Copilot or Glean.

Conditions

The role mixes onsite and remote work, with at least one week per month at the customer site in Memphis, TN, US.

Base salary depends on location, experience and other objective job factors: Level 3 pays 108,000 USD to 172,500 USD, and Level 4 pays 120,000 USD to 207,000 USD.

This is an existing open position.
