Position Overview
As a Full Stack Support Engineer, you will take ownership of complex application issues and lead the enhancements that keep key banking systems running reliably. You will partner with technology and business teams to define system requirements, resolve high-impact problems, and guide analysts across the function. This role sits at the center of the company's technology operations, where your expertise directly shapes the performance and stability of applications that support the business.
Responsibilities
Lead application support for complex, high-impact systems, resolving issues through detailed analysis of business processes and system logic.
Partner with multiple technology teams to integrate systems and functions, ensuring enhancements align with business goals.
Define the scope and objectives for complex application enhancements, translating business needs into clear technical requirements.
Work with product owners, business analysts, and systems analysts to determine system impacts and support needs.
Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues within applications, and recommend practical solutions to address them.
Apply SQL, ETL tools, Unix or shell scripting, and Python to diagnose issues and maintain microservices-based application environments.
Mentor and guide junior support analysts, allocating work and sharing technical expertise across the team.
Communicate the business impact of technical decisions to stakeholders, influencing functional outcomes.
Required Qualifications & Skills
6+ years of experience leading application support, ideally within banking or financial services.
Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills, developed through leading requirement-gathering efforts across multiple large-scale development projects.
Demonstrated leadership and relationship-building skills, with a service-oriented approach to working in a fast-paced environment.
Strong working knowledge of SQL, applied to analyze data and resolve complex application issues.
Solid understanding of ETL processes, combined with hands-on Unix or shell scripting skills for application troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of Python and a clear understanding of microservices-based architecture.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with availability to work occasional weekends during critical incidents, for which compensatory leave is provided.
