Description

The company is a sports technology firm serving more than 1,700 sports federations, media outlets, betting operators and consumer platforms in 120 countries.

This senior game mathematician role sits in the iGaming division, which builds casino games, virtual sports, live betting products, 24/7 experiences and other sports-inspired gaming concepts.

You would work on the Playradar Casino Games portfolio, which is growing fast, and you would work mostly on your own with defined game math problems while partnering with Product, Game Design, Engineering and Compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build mathematical models for RNG-based casino games such as slots, instant-win, crash, plinko-style, roulette-inspired and number games.
  • Build, test and document probability models, payout structures, volatility profiles, RTP configurations and simulations for product development and certification.
  • Work with Product and Game Design to turn game ideas into sound mechanics that balance player engagement, commercial goals and regulatory rules.
  • Run simulations and check results against expected distributions, hit frequency, variance, maximum exposure and target RTP.
  • Write clear mathematical specifications and supporting documents for Engineering, QA, Compliance and external certification partners.
  • Work with Engineering and QA so game math is implemented, tested and verified correctly in production games.
  • Analyse post-launch game and player data and recommend changes to mechanics, balancing, volatility, retention and monetisation.
  • Identify math-based opportunities for new mechanics, differentiated experiences and reusable game templates for the Casino Games roadmap.
  • Own assigned game math workstreams, solve complex but well-defined problems alone, and raise risks early with recommendations.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in game mathematics, probability modelling, statistical analysis, data science, applied mathematics or a similar analytical role, ideally in casino gaming, iGaming, online games or digital entertainment.
  • A strong grasp of probability theory, combinatorics, statistics, simulation, variance, RTP, hit frequency and payout modelling for RNG-based games.
  • You can develop, validate and document casino game models with limited supervision.
  • Commercial experience designing, developing and maintaining Java-based applications in production.
  • Hands-on use of analytical and scripting tools such as Python, R, SQL, Excel/VBA or MATLAB for simulation and statistical modelling.
  • A solid understanding of casino game mechanics, including slots, table games, crash, instant games, plinko-style, lottery and number games, and how the math shapes the player experience.
  • Sound analytical judgement: you spot risks, test assumptions and explain complex math to non-technical stakeholders.
  • You work well with Product, Game Design, Engineering, QA, Compliance and Commercial teams.
  • You are comfortable in a fast-moving product environment where priorities shift and pragmatic, high-quality solutions are needed.
  • Experience with certification processes, regulated gaming, responsible gambling or jurisdiction-specific RTP rules is an advantage.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, enough to produce clear specifications, analysis summaries and explanations for stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience building math models for certified real-money casino games.
  • Knowledge of market-specific gaming regulations, lab certification or game math approval processes.
  • Experience with sports-themed or branded casino games that combine sports content with casino mechanics.
  • Interest in innovation, prototyping and building scalable math frameworks for a growing casino portfolio.

Conditions

The role is fully office-based. Flexible working hours are offered, and exemptions may apply depending on location; your local contact can confirm.

The minimum monthly salary follows the collective bargaining agreement, and a higher salary may be offered depending on qualifications and experience.

The company is an equal opportunity employer.

Benefits

  • Shape the mathematical foundations of a fast-growing sports entertainment and iGaming portfolio.
  • See your models shape player experience, product performance and commercial results for casino games played worldwide.
  • Work with talented colleagues across several teams in an international, collaborative environment.
  • Own the models, simulations and balancing decisions for an expanding range of casino products.
  • A competitive salary and an attractive benefits package.
  • Individual learning and professional development opportunities.
  • An inclusive, international culture with diverse communities.
  • Corporate fitness activities and extra employee wellbeing programs.
