Description

The company is a sports data and technology firm. More than 1,700 sports federations, media outlets, betting operators and consumer platforms in 120 countries use its technology.

In this role you act as an internal consultant, placed in other departments and business units. You talk with the business, pin down the real problems, reduce complexity, simplify processes, and then build the AI solution.

You work largely alone with little supervision, handle organisational complexity and competing priorities, set the technical strategy for your use cases, and lead LLM and agentic work from discovery through to production.

Hiring steps: a short screening chat with a talent acquisition partner, then a brief take-home technical task. Next come two technical interviews, first with the technical team and then with the hiring manager, covering your solution and team fit. The last step is feedback and, if it goes well, an offer.

Responsibilities

  • Meet department leads and teams to learn how work gets done today, then identify and clearly state the problems.
  • Turn messy situations into defined problems with scope, success criteria and a delivery plan.
  • Simplify business processes and judge where AI helps and where it does not.
  • Work through stakeholders, approvals and competing priorities so work keeps moving.
  • Set technical strategy and architecture for your internal projects.
  • Build production agentic and LLM systems covering retrieval (RAG), tool use, context and prompt design, guardrails and observability.
  • Define and run evaluations, such as test sets, regression suites and monitoring, that steer design and model choices.
  • Coach colleagues, review their designs and share reusable patterns.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including senior work with business stakeholders.
  • Clear communication with both business and technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
  • Self-driven, comfortable working on ambiguous problems with little supervision.
  • Able to manage organisational complexity and competing priorities to get results.
  • Strong at spotting problems and analysing them, with experience simplifying complex processes or systems.
  • Experience building and running production systems, with strong system design skills.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs and agents: prompting, tool use, RAG and evaluation.
  • Strong Python, experience with data pipelines, and experience with a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP).
  • Consulting or internal consulting experience.
