Description

The company provides data-driven marketing and sponsorship services to the iGaming industry through its advertising division, with purpose-built tools for sportsbooks and media publishers worldwide.

The Sports Data team builds and runs the data pipelines and processing systems used across the division. It delivers clean, reliable, real-time data through scalable services and APIs so other teams can build features and products on top of it.

The team uses cloud-native technology, automated pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) to ingest, process and distribute high-quality data at scale.

This is a senior engineering role on the Sports Data team. You will work across several layers of the stack, with a focus on API development, testing and documentation, and you will work in a cross-functional team.

The company is the world's leading sports technology company, working where sports, media and betting meet. More than 1,700 sports federations, media outlets, betting operators and consumer platforms in 120 countries use its technology.

Hiring has four stages: a short screening call with a talent acquisition partner, a 60-minute theoretical technical interview, a 60-minute live coding session judged on code quality and reasoning rather than the final result, and a 60-minute system design interview on a high-level problem with set requirements. After that come final feedback, possibly an onsite visit, and an offer if successful.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a small, self-organised agile software team and grow your skills within it.
  • Build robust, scalable back-end services and APIs for the advertising technology using current frameworks and tools.
  • Help design and build reliable, secure and efficient data pipelines and systems, with attention to quality, observability and security.
  • Coach and develop team members through feedback and technical guidance.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional experience in agile software development.
  • Professional experience developing in at least one high-level programming language.
  • Professional experience with at least one back-end technology such as Go, Node.js, Python,.Net or Java.
  • A commitment to clean code and testing.
  • A solid understanding of data structures, algorithms and design patterns.
  • A keen interest in new technologies and continuous learning.
  • Familiarity with a cloud platform such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
  • You might be a good fit if you:
  • You enjoy helping other engineers improve their technical and soft skills.
  • You take ownership, proactively lead changes, and improve best practices and the codebase.
  • You work as a full stack developer with a focus on back-end development.

Conditions

This role is fully office-based in Vienna, with flexible working hours. Certain exemptions may apply depending on location, and your local point of contact can give details.

The office moved in Q1/2024 to the Nordbahnviertel area in Vienna's 2nd district, with a top inner-city location that is well connected by public transport and cycle paths.

The minimum monthly salary is set by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. A higher salary may be offered depending on qualifications and experience.

Benefits

  • Collaborate with colleagues in engineering offices across Europe, Asia and the US.
  • Shape your workday and career through a clearly defined professional and personal development plan.
  • Work with senior leadership and build your career in a growing company in digital sports.
  • Join community groups such as Women in Tech and Pride, which welcome everyone.
  • Take part in social events, sports and physical exercise activities.
  • Enter internal challenges such as ShipIt, office darts and table tennis tournaments, and beer brewing competitions.
  • Competitive pay and benefits, including a retirement pension and an insurance plan.
  • The company covers the full cost of an annual Öffi ticket (Jahreskarte) of €365.
