Description

You are an experienced solutions architect who works well in complex environments that span several technical domains. You help clients line up technology with their business goals, and you ask good questions before recommending anything.

You own the solution strategy from start to finish and work closely with Account Executives and technical leads to close deals. You also mentor colleagues and raise the level of technical depth and consultative selling across the organization.

The Client Solution Architect is the technical lead on each account and the main technical partner to the Account Executive. The AE runs the overall relationship and sales plan, while the CSA shapes client needs into a coordinated technical strategy, supports the sales regions, qualifies opportunities, connects specialists, and brings the right technical people in early.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery conversations to learn the client's current setup, business goals, technical problems, upcoming projects, budget, and timing, and find where the company can help. Do not wait for the client to name a product.
  • Ask targeted questions that turn conversations into qualified opportunities, linking client pain points to solutions in data center, networking, security, cloud, and professional services.
  • Hold credible technical conversations across the full portfolio without being the deepest expert. When a discussion goes deep into one area, recognize it, ask enough to scope the need, and bring in the right security, networking, cloud, services, automation, observability, or data center specialist.
  • Coordinate the technical side of each deal by knowing who needs to join, when, and why, so the AE is not separately chasing several engineering teams. The flow runs from client to AE and CSA to the right specialists, services, PMO, and partners.
  • Stay involved after specialists join, including client kickoff calls and weekly status meetings on larger or complex work, to keep continuity from discovery through architecture, proposal or SOW, and implementation handoff.
  • Frame technical options in business terms such as lower risk, better resiliency, lower cost, modernization, operational efficiency, growth, stronger security, or simpler management. Explain the problem, the recommended design, and the reasoning behind it.
  • Spot adjacent opportunities in the account to help the AE grow it.
  • Complete ongoing security awareness training and follow company policies.
  • Identify and escalate security risks to the right Executive Leadership Team member, and help fix them.
  • Take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Have 7 to 10 years of experience in solution architecture, pre-sales engineering, or technical consulting.
  • Have a track record of designing and selling complete enterprise solutions that span several technical domains.
  • Bring advanced consultative discovery skills and a history of guiding clients through their decisions.
  • Be broadly skilled in at least two of the company's core practice areas.
  • Manage complex technical sales cycles on your own.
  • Holding relevant OEM certifications is highly preferred.

Conditions

Must be based in the United States and live in Austin or Dallas, Texas.

Travel of up to 40% may be required.

The base salary range for this role in New York City is $250,000 to $300,000. Pay in other locations may differ.

The company works to be inclusive and to let each employee do their best work.

  • Unlimited paid time off.
  • Incentive compensation plans for all employees, plus profit-sharing bonus and/or commission opportunities.
  • Company-funded 401k contributions.
  • Employer-covered health insurance at no cost to you.
  • Annual reimbursement of up to $500 for your own device (BYOD).
