Description

The company is Europe's number one e-pharmacy, serving millions of customers across Europe.

The posting lists the role as Senior Mobile Engineer (Android/iOS), part of a cross-functional product team.

You will help build the next generation of Retail Media and sponsored ad experiences in the mobile app, combining sponsored products, personalized recommendations, native ads and campaign-driven journeys while keeping the shopping experience top quality.

You will have high visibility and direct influence on how the Android ecosystem develops as the company grows.

You will work with product managers, designers, backend engineers, data scientists and Retail Media stakeholders.

The stack includes Kotlin, the Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, Android Jetpack (ViewModel, Navigation, DataStore), Coroutines and Flow, Hilt (Dagger), Retrofit and OkHttp, Ktor and Koin.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the building of Android apps in Kotlin that perform well and are easy to scale and maintain, applying MVVM, MVI and Clean Architecture.
  • Define and evolve the Android architecture so it stays modular, testable and maintainable over time.
  • Push the use of Jetpack Compose to produce declarative, reusable and responsive interfaces.
  • Build reusable mobile components for Retail Media and ads, including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, native placements, display banners and personalized product recommendations.
  • Place Retail Media units naturally in product discovery, search, category, product detail and other shopping flows, balancing revenue goals with customer experience.
  • Work with backend, data, product and ad server teams on APIs, tracking contracts, campaign metadata, targeting, attribution and measurement.
  • Build configurable solutions so new ad formats, placements, campaigns and monetization uses can be added quickly.
  • Set standards for modularization, code quality, testing, performance, dependency management, observability and security.
  • Improve CI/CD reliability, build speed and release processes.
  • Keep clear documentation of architecture decisions, features and technical processes.
  • Review and steer key technical and architecture decisions, helping set standards across teams.
  • Improve app stability, performance and overall technical health.
  • Pay down technical debt where it makes sense, while building platform improvements that help product teams.
  • Add and evolve feature flags, experimentation frameworks and A/B tests to measure new customer and ad experiences.

Requirements

  • Extensive Android development experience, with strong Kotlin skills.
  • Deep knowledge of the Android SDK and current Android practices.
  • Hands-on work with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines and Flow, Hilt or Dagger for dependency injection, and REST APIs with Retrofit or OkHttp.
  • Solid grasp of clean architecture, design patterns and modularization.
  • Experience testing with JUnit, Espresso and MockK, writing maintainable, testable code.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.
  • Proven record of owning complex projects and delivering high-quality results independently.
  • Strong focus on performance, scalability and user experience.
  • Good debugging and performance optimization skills, and you work well across teams.
  • Experience in Retail Media, AdTech, MarTech or large-scale e-commerce platforms.
  • Cross-platform experience is an add-on.

Conditions

If the role does not require you to be in the office, your place of work can be arranged individually, including up to 20 days a year from anywhere in the EU.
