Description

You will join the Ordering team on the consumer apps and own the flow from cart through checkout and payment to order history. iOS is your main platform, and you will shape how the app connects to our services alongside the team.

The Ordering team owns the stage where a basket becomes an order. Each order passes through its cart, checkout, payments, delivery fees, vouchers, order creation and order history.

The company runs an online supermarket that delivers groceries in minutes from inner-city hubs. It offers more than 2,400 products, uses electric bikes and recyclable packaging, and is growing fast.

The team uses coding agents every day. The iOS repository includes its own agent instructions and skills, and agents help port features between iOS and Android and review cross-platform changes. You will go deep on iOS, contribute to Android, and occasionally work on BFFs.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship cart, checkout, payment and order history screens in the iOS app using Swift and SwiftUI, within a modular codebase managed with Swift Package Manager.
  • Improve legacy checkout code whenever you work in it.
  • Take features from prototype through technical design, implementation, release and production monitoring, and take ownership of them afterwards.
  • Solve problems that stop customers completing orders, such as keeping a basket intact when items go out of stock, raising payment success rates across Apple Pay, PayPal and cards, and showing fees, discounts and vouchers clearly before payment.
  • Use coding agents such as Claude Code to write, test, review and port code, and improve the agent instructions and skills in the repositories so the whole team benefits.
  • Lead code reviews, write unit and UI tests with XCTest and Maestro, and keep CI and the release process in good shape.
  • Instrument what you build and watch crashes, errors and payment failures in Datadog. Help resolve production incidents and fix root causes.
  • Work with your Product Manager, Designer and Analyst to decide what to build and why. Use experiments and data, and raise better options when you see them.
  • Mentor engineers and share what works with agents across the Consumer domain.
  • Follow secure coding practices for payments and personal data, and fix vulnerabilities quickly.

Requirements

  • The team values the quality of your impact more than the number of years you have worked.
  • You have built and shipped consumer apps on iOS with Swift and SwiftUI, or on Android with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. iOS experience is preferred, and Android engineers who want to move into iOS are welcome to apply.
  • You understand mobile architecture, concurrency, networking and testing. You release apps safely through the App Store or Google Play and maintain your features in production.
  • You have used coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or GitHub Copilot, and you want them to be central to your work. You know which tasks to hand to an agent and you check its output before it ships.
  • You care about customer outcomes and use data, experiments and customer feedback to choose what to build.
  • You have built cart, checkout or payment flows, for example with payment provider SDKs such as Adyen or with Apple Pay.
  • You have written agent instructions, skills or tooling that other engineers use.
  • You have used observability or experimentation tools such as Datadog, Firebase Crashlytics, feature flags or A/B testing platforms.
  • It is a plus if you have worked on Android or backend code, or are keen to when the need arises.

Conditions

This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week, with a starting base salary of 80,000.00 to 100,000.00 EUR gross.

You get 26 days of vacation, plus one additional day per year up to a maximum of 30 days.

The Berlin office is modern and dog-friendly, in the heart of the city with many lunch options within a short walk.

The company evaluates every applicant on skills, regardless of age, gender identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability or religion.
