Quality Assurance Engineer

The team is hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer who will report to the Value Stream Manager. Teams here are built on mutual trust and work on technically demanding problems.

Responsibilities

• Handle confidential information with care.
• Use word processing, database, and enterprise information systems software. Microsoft suite proficiency is beneficial.
• Work independently and contribute well within a team in a manufacturing setting.
• Work on motion control and electronic components.
• Review documents covering contract terms, industry standards, and other regulatory flow-downs.
• Apply analytical methods such as SPC, Gage R&R, 5 Why, and Fault Trees.
• Review quotes for compliance and for assigning quality-related costs.
• Use statistical and 6 Sigma tools to protect quality both internally and externally.
• Respond to internal and external quality issues, focusing on prevention and sharing lessons learned with other programs and products.
• Write quality documentation and test procedures.
• Work across the organization to keep parts and products compliant with customer and internal specifications.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, which involves some travel.
• Find, analyze, and fix complex problems by reviewing available data and putting effective solutions in place.
• Take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in an engineering field, or a bachelor's degree with relevant manufacturing work experience, or an associate degree with 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing role.
• Preferred: experience working in a team-based manufacturing environment.

Conditions

Onsite work in Blacksburg, VA, with flexible Friday afternoons.

Base salary range of $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year.

The range is the low and high end of the company's salary range for this role in this location. Actual pay depends on location, experience, and performance, and the range is one part of total compensation, which may also include annual bonuses, an employee stock purchase plan, open paid time off, and region-specific benefits.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
