SAP Software Test Engineer

Description

The team supports USTRANSCOM's Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS), a mission-critical enterprise platform that covers transportation, logistics and financial operations through SAP S/4HANA ERP integration.

The role is a large-scale SAP implementation where you will mainly run hands-on manual tests, with some possible test automation.

You will work with developers, business analysts and product owners to help keep the system reliable and performant.

Responsibilities

• Read user stories and functional requirements to work out test scenarios, edge cases, acceptance criteria and other testing needs.
• Build and upkeep test scripts for the SAP TM, YL, GTT and EWM modules, along with their workflows and integrations.
• Carry out functional testing of JTMS modules and customizations within an Agile team under a SAFe Agile framework.
• Log defects with clear reproduction steps, follow each one until it is resolved, and report findings clearly to developers.
• Work with developers and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and widen test coverage.
• Write and maintain test cases, test data sets and traceability matrices that follow SAFe Agile practice.
• Take part in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives and other Agile ceremonies.
• Look for ways to improve testing processes, tools and quality assurance practice.

Requirements

• Required: Active Secret clearance.
• Required: A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Required: At least 5 years of manual software testing on large-scale ERP systems.
• Required: Proven hands-on testing of SAP S/4HANA applications, including workflows and integrations.
• Required: Solid working knowledge of the SAFe framework, SDLC and Agile development practices.
• Required: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Desired: Test automation experience, preferably with Tricentis TOSCA and/or UiPath.
• Desired: ISTQB or a similar testing certification.
• Desired: Experience using ServiceNow CWM (Collaborative Work Management) for Agile test management and defect tracking.
• Desired: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Git and DevSecOps best practices.
• Desired: Previous work supporting federal agencies or Department of Defense clients.

Conditions

Full-time, regular position.

Travel of up to 10%, within the continental US.

Minimum clearance needed to start: Secret.

Salary range is $75,200-$158,100, based on the national average for the role. Final pay depends on location, federal contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant experience, specific skills, education and certifications.

The role can be based in more than one location.
