  • Work with site leadership and engineering managers to set priorities, assign resources and deliver projects.
  • Partner with systems, electrical, mechanical and test engineers to deliver integrated test solutions that meet technical, schedule and cost targets.
  • Help define software requirements and support deployment and upkeep of software in operational use.
  • Enforce engineering process compliance and find ways to improve software quality, efficiency, reliability and maintainability.
  • Complete performance reviews, support development plans, take part in workforce planning and help with recruiting.
  • Track emerging software tools, test methods and best practices and bring useful ones into the team's work.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering or a closely related technical field.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with technical contributions to complex engineering projects.
  • Prior leadership experience, through managing people or leading technical work on engineering teams and projects.
  • Experience writing software in Python.
  • Experience with software design, integration, debugging and verification.
  • Ability to work well across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and support technical teams.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 5-10% of the time, as projects require.
  • Preferred: experience building software for automated test equipment, test stands or hardware-in-the-loop systems.
  • Preferred: experience with LabVIEW, dSPACE, MATLAB/Simulink or similar test and simulation platforms.
  • Preferred: experience with data acquisition, instrumentation, automation and control systems.
  • Preferred: aerospace, defense or other highly regulated industry experience.
  • Preferred: familiarity with flight control, electromechanical or closed-loop control systems.
  • Preferred: experience supporting system verification and validation.
  • Preferred: a track record of mentoring and developing engineers in a technical setting.
  • Preferred: experience in a lab, test or development setting with integrated hardware and software.
  • Preferred: hands-on mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience.
