The company designs, builds and delivers complex maritime vessels for defense and security, offshore, public transport and dredging customers.
The work takes place in an international, multidisciplinary setting, with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, engineering teams and shipyards around the world.
The company is hiring a Project Manager for its Defense & Security product group.
Responsibilities
You own the delivery of assigned shipbuilding projects, from contract handover to delivery and warranty.
You run each project as one integrated whole, keeping scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, contract obligations and stakeholder expectations under control.
You work with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with engineering, supply chain, production, site management, quality, contract management, services, suppliers, subcontractors and customers.
Many vessels are built at international production sites, so you work across cultures, disciplines and time zones.
You start assigned projects by setting the scope and drafting plans, deliverables, milestones and responsibilities with the project team.
You manage the whole execution chain: engineering, procurement, production, testing, commissioning, sea trials, delivery and warranty follow-up.
You track progress against plan, budget, quality standards, contract terms and customer expectations, and step in with corrective action when needed.
You spot project risks and opportunities, define mitigation steps, and escalate issues early when they threaten time, cost, quality or scope.
You keep internal and external stakeholders informed with clear, timely and professional updates on status, decisions, risks and next actions.
You handle process disruptions and keep work moving with the project team, suppliers, subcontractors and shipyards.
You make sure company standards, HSSEQ requirements, contractual obligations and governance processes are followed throughout each project.
You support customer meetings, inspections, contract milestones, sea trials and delivery moments where needed.
You capture lessons learned and feed improvements back into product, process and project execution.
Requirements
You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in shipbuilding, naval architecture, marine engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable technical field.
You have at least five years of relevant project management experience, preferably in shipbuilding, maritime engineering, defense, offshore or another complex technical environment.
You have worked in multidisciplinary teams and with complex stakeholder groups.
You understand project control well, including planning, budget, scope, risk, quality and contractual requirements.
You have experience with international production sites, suppliers, subcontractors and customers, which is considered an advantage.
You have an affinity with defense and security projects and can work in a controlled, compliance-sensitive environment.
You communicate excellently in English. Dutch language skills are considered an advantage.
You are willing to travel internationally when required.
You are a strong organizer and natural coordinator who brings structure to complex projects.
You communicate clearly, decide on the basis of facts and priorities, and keep stakeholders aligned.
You are result-oriented and quality-driven, and balance customer focus with commercial, technical and contractual limits.
You take ownership, stay calm under pressure and work comfortably in an international, dynamic project environment.
