The team sits within a global professional services organisation that delivers highly technical projects for major clients in over 130 countries, and it is growing its wider digital delivery capability.
This is a broad delivery role for defence projects and programmes. You may work across project management, programme coordination, delivery management, operational management and business analysis, shaping your approach to each defence assignment.
You will work alongside defence clients, delivery partners and mixed disciplinary teams to bring clarity, set workable delivery controls and turn operational and business needs into practical plans. Depending on the work, you might lead a project or workstream, coordinate a wider programme, improve how operations run, or help set priorities for digital and data-enabled change in secure, regulated settings.
You need to be digitally and data literate, comfortable with both technical and non-technical colleagues, and effective in complex defence stakeholder settings.
Responsibilities
Run or co-ordinate delivery of projects, programmes, workstreams or operational services, keeping a firm grip on scope, outcomes, priorities, plans, resources and dependencies.
Engage defence clients and stakeholders to understand operational and business problems, set objectives and turn requirements into delivery plans, products, services or process changes.
Set up and maintain proportionate delivery controls covering plans, governance, reporting, risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, decisions and change control.
Direct mixed disciplinary teams and delivery partners, clear blockers and keep work moving toward agreed outcomes.
Help identify, capture, check and rank business and user requirements, and keep them traceable through delivery and implementation.
Support the design and delivery of digital, data and reporting solutions by linking business users with analysts, architects, engineers, product specialists and change staff.
Set measurable outcomes, benefits, performance measures and success criteria, and use evidence to guide decisions and demonstrate value.
Plan and run implementation, transition, adoption and business change so that new capabilities become part of everyday operations.
Build trusted relationships with senior defence stakeholders, give clear, evidence-based advice, and explain delivery challenges, trade-offs and recommendations plainly.
Support operational management by improving ways of working, clarifying roles and processes, tracking performance and driving continuous improvement.
Lead in a collaborative and inclusive way: set direction, coach and mentor team members, and help them take ownership.
Contribute to client relationship building, mobilisation, proposals and wider capability growth where relevant.
SOX control responsibilities may form part of the role and should be followed where they apply.
