Description

This senior project manager sits in the services program management office, manages project portfolios for the services business unit, and drives serviceability for the EMEA region.

The office focuses on customer experience and a patient-first approach, with cross-functional project management across new product development and introduction, product launch, and expansion of products outside the United States.

The company is a pioneer and market leader in robotic-assisted surgery and has worked with hospitals and care teams worldwide for 25+ years. The team includes people from varied backgrounds, and the company invests in members' long-term growth.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a portfolio of projects for assigned programs, often handling several priorities at once.
  • Lead programs for new product development, new product introduction, launch, or global expansion for the services business unit and the EMEA services team, keeping readiness aligned with EMEA commercial dates through negotiation and prioritization.
  • Build and maintain project schedules, and share status, milestones, deadlines, and risks across functions. Flag risks early with mitigation options and a cost-benefit analysis.
  • Shape product development so service requirements become part of new product or platform requirements for EMEA, affecting design and how efficiently services can install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain products in the field.
  • Make sure service needs are built into global end-of-life and end-of-service plans so customers move smoothly to current technology.
  • Address service challenges for products entering or already on the market in EMEA, and keep improving serviceability of in-market products.
  • Take on additional duties as determined by the functional people manager.

Requirements

  • Required: at least 8 years of experience bringing products to market, acting as project leader for field service, or supporting global operational expansion. Education can be used in place of direct experience.
  • Preferred: experience with medical devices and/or robotics.
  • Required: demonstrated experience influencing product development on behalf of services, and familiarity with design for serviceability and maintenance principles.
  • Required: experience in a regulated environment, with familiarity with medical device regulations and their country-specific differences.
  • Preferred: a B.S. degree in biomedical, mechanical, industrial, or systems engineering.
  • Ability to understand technical information and turn project requirements into clear, assignable deliverables.
  • Skilled at presenting and facilitating meetings, adapting messages to the audience, and communicating with everyone from front-line engineers to executives.
  • Careful with detail, self-starting, and takes ownership of work.

Conditions

The company values every person regardless of gender, ethnic or social origin, religion, special needs, age, or sexual identity, and discrimination has no place there.

Some positions may be subject to US export controls for candidates who are nationals of countries under embargo or sanctions. The information you provide determines whether the company must obtain a US government export licence, a process that can take up to six months, or put in place a Technology Control Plan (TCP), which usually extends hiring by about 2 weeks.

For export-controlled roles, any offer is conditional on an approved export licence and/or a fully executed TCP before the planned start date. The start date may be adjusted if approval does not unduly affect hiring needs.

The role may be filled at a different job level depending on business needs and the selected candidate's experience. Pay follows the job level and the candidate's qualifications, in line with all legal requirements.
