Description

The company is Ireland's leading environmental services company, offering energy, waste and water solutions with a focus on carbon reduction, environmental protection and the circular economy.

The company has a team of around 200 people and is growing fast to meet its growth plans.

This role sits in the Water division, which is growing, and is part of the ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) team as a Project Manager (Design Coordination).

You will work on a broad range of Water and Wastewater Treatment projects across the island of Ireland.

ECI is a newer delivery model for water infrastructure with two stages: Project Commencement Instruction (PCI), where early design, environmental, planning and detailed design work agrees the project scope and target cost, and Project Delivery Instruction (PDI), where the agreed scope is delivered to the target cost under a pain/gain share mechanism. Projects must be delivered safely, on time and within budget, with a strong working relationship across the wider ECI team.

Responsibilities

  • Know the contract thoroughly for every project you are assigned.
  • Coordinate design activities and outputs across Water or Wastewater PCI and PDI projects.
  • Be the main point of contact for any issue on your project portfolio.
  • Work within the ECI structure with the client, technical assurance, employer's representative and operations to deliver the project scope.
  • Report progress on design outputs and deliverables to senior management, showing the effect on workshop dates, procurement, cost, forecast and variations.
  • Secure commitments from scope performers and track them against the baseline so delays are managed and opportunities are captured.
  • Keep all required documentation in the approved systems, such as BIM 360 and process workflows.
  • Monitor and control the project and keep it on programme.
  • Manage the procurement sheet.
  • Identify risks to design activities and outputs and notify the client so early warnings, claims, variations and the final cost cap agreement can be prepared.
  • Find opportunities and drive improvements in the design process and wider team.
  • Work with the project team, including the Programme Manager, designers, drafting team and H&S Manager, to meet all health and safety requirements.
  • Make sure the project team is motivated and understands the scope and timeline of their outputs.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience delivering M&E or civil engineering projects.
  • A diploma, degree or master's in a relevant engineering discipline (such as mechanical, civil, process or chemical), or equivalent experience.
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Project.
  • Good organisation and time management.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Strong communication skills.

Conditions

Permanent contract.

Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm.

EU/EEA nationals must show proof of right to work in Ireland.

Non-EU/EEA nationals must hold current, valid permission to work and live in the Republic of Ireland.

Information on permits (green card, work permit, spousal and dependant permits) is available from the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation website.

Benefits

  • Full VHI cover, pension and education assistance, provided as standard to all employees.
