Project Manager (Proposals)

Description

This is a Project Manager (Proposals) role in the Water/Wastewater sector, leading a team that prepares cost proposals for Water and Wastewater DB/DBO work in the Small Project Division, with project values of €0-1.5M.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and manage a team producing competitive, accurate DB/DBO cost proposals for water and wastewater projects
• Manage a portfolio of proposals, owning both the commercial and technical sides of the process
• Work with clients to build cost models, negotiate and manage the relationship while protecting the company's interests at every stage
• Take an active part in design and engineering development
• Work with the delivery team to apply lessons learned and complete peer reviews on time
• Manage suppliers, partners and subcontractors during target cost development
• Set target costs that are accurate and competitive
• Select and evaluate partners, technologies, equipment and vendors, including finding alternatives where needed
• Identify all risks, document who carries each cost and responsibility, and agree the programme of works with partners
• Follow all internal governance procedures
• Coordinate with engineering, proposals, contracts and procurement teams so competitive tenders are delivered successfully and on schedule

Requirements

• A Level 8 NFQ honours bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, accredited
• 5+ years of relevant experience after qualification in tendering or delivering water or wastewater engineering projects; more experienced candidates will also be considered
• Knowledge of the water and wastewater treatment industry
• Up-to-date understanding of current market conditions
• Strong numeracy and high computer literacy, with a competent level of Microsoft Office
• Ability to solve problems and think analytically with a forward-looking outlook
• Strong organisation, time management and communication skills, including excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
• Able to work independently as well as within a team as an engineer or manager

Conditions

Permanent contract

Based in Kilkenny, Fermoy or Dublin; you can work from any of the company's three head offices

Hybrid working

Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm
