Description

The team is looking for an EPC Project Manager to work remotely.

The role manages complex, site-based construction projects that need deep product knowledge. You will handle material, place orders and track shipments, own the customer relationship, manage work with sales and vendors, and keep communication clear and on time through the whole project.

The company is one of the largest distributors of electrical products, data communication, wireless communication and related supplies in the United States. Its electrical distribution business runs through eight regions that sell under several banner and trade names, including Rexel, Rexel Automation, Gexpro, Mayer, Talley and Platt Electric Supply. It also operates an online store and a network of over 460 warehouse storefront locations across the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Manage every part of complex, high-profile onsite construction projects that demand strong product knowledge.
  • Set project-specific KPIs, and put in place performance tracking, project dashboards and issue trackers.
  • Keep the customer informed, speed up over, short and damaged (OS&D) shipments, and fix customer problems quickly.
  • Review every purchase order to understand what is needed and confirm the terms and conditions are correct.
  • Work with sales and vendors to win extra margin where possible.
  • Coordinate with vendors, customers and sales on pricing, orders, claims, returns and account management so customer expectations are met.
  • Chase backorders to raise fill rates and customer satisfaction.
  • Work with the customer's project team, internal staff and procurement to use inventory well and cut excess. Build project-specific vendor programs that reduce excess stock.
  • Make sure all project site safety requirements and protocols are set up and followed.
  • Choose vendors and purchases that secure better pricing and substitute products where useful, to clearly improve project profit.
  • Manage the delivery schedule, product quality, information updates and back charges.
  • Look for new ways to deliver on time and within budget.
  • Send timely price quotes, requotes and proposals.
  • Build relationships with customers, key suppliers and vendors.
  • Coordinate with the project team on documents such as O&M manuals, test reports, submittal packages and certificates of compliance. Set regular check-in calls with internal and external teams to track progress.
  • You may train and guide entry-level project managers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • You have 7+ years in quoting, project management or customer service.
  • Experience in the electrical distribution industry is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • You communicate well with customers and colleagues.
  • You are comfortable with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • You are self-motivated, enthusiastic about the business and have an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • You can work effectively and juggle several tasks in a demanding, time-sensitive setting.
  • You are detail-oriented, with strong organization and time management skills.
  • You are analytical and good at solving problems.
  • You drive results.
