Project Manager (Engineering)

The company is Ireland's leading environmental services provider, offering energy, waste and water solutions focused on cutting carbon, protecting the environment and building the circular economy.

The team has about 200 people and is growing quickly to meet ambitious plans.

Growth in the Water division has created an opening on the ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) team for a Project Manager (Design Coordination) working on water and wastewater treatment projects across the Island of Ireland.

ECI is a newer delivery model for water infrastructure with two stages. PCI covers early environmental, planning and detailed design work to agree a project scope and target cost. PDI delivers the agreed scope to that target cost under a pain/gain share mechanism. The aim is safe, high-quality projects completed punctually and inside budget, with a good working relationship across the ECI team.

Responsibilities

• Know the contract in full for every project you are assigned.
• Coordinate design work and outputs across Water or Wastewater PCI and PDI projects.
• Be the main contact for any issue within your project portfolio.
• Work within the ECI structure with the client, technical assurance, the employer's representative and operations to deliver scope.
• Report progress on design outputs and deliverables to senior management, including effects on workshop dates, procurement, cost, forecast and variations.
• Secure commitments from scope performers and track them against baseline so delays are managed and opportunities captured.
• Make sure all documents are handled through approved systems, such as BIM 360 and process workflows.
• Monitor and control the project and keep it to the programme.
• Maintain the procurement sheet.
• Identify risks to design work and notify the client so early warnings, claims, variations and final cost cap agreement can be prepared.
• Find opportunities and drive improvements in the design process and wider team.
• Liaise with the Programme Manager, designers, drafting team and H&S Manager to meet all health and safety requirements.
• Keep the project team motivated and clear on the scope and timing of their outputs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience after qualifying, delivering M&E or civil engineering projects.
• Diploma, degree or master's in a relevant engineering discipline such as mechanical, civil, process or chemical, or equivalent experience.
• Strong IT skills, including MS Project.
• Good organisation and time management.
• Self-motivated.
• Strong communication skills.

Conditions

Permanent contract.

Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm.

EU/EEA nationals must provide proof of right to work in Ireland.

Non-EU/EEA nationals need current, valid permission to work and live in the Republic of Ireland.
