Professional Services Intern

Description

The company is a network technology business with around 6,000 employees in over 50 countries. It makes video surveillance, access control, intercom and audio systems, with intelligent analytics applied on top.

This co-op or internship sits in the Professional Services Group and supports pre-sales work across the full product range. You will also look after the Axis Experience Centre (AEC), the technical demonstration centre for the company's products.

The role is based in Mississauga, Ontario, and you must live there or be able to commute to it. The work is fully in-office and in person.

Responsibilities

• Design solutions and support the team before a sale is made
• Write technical sales material and system design recommendations
• Take part in on-site visits, surveys, proofs of concept and trial installations
• Keep the technologies in the Experience Centre running and up to date
• Cover for other Professional Services staff when needed
• Find ways to work more efficiently and simplify workflows
• Travel within your assigned region for up to 25% of your time
• Carry out other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a secondary institution and eligible for a 4, 8 or 12-month internship or co-op program
• Understand networking, including TCP/IP, transport protocols, switches, infrastructure and troubleshooting
• Communicate clearly and professionally, both speaking and listening
• Write strong technical material, such as white papers, manuals and instructions
• Present well and speak in public
• Be resourceful and adaptable
• Be able to lift 20-40 lbs occasionally
• Be comfortable climbing and standing on ladders or lifts for long periods
• Be comfortable working at heights, such as on ceilings and roof tops
• Have access to a vehicle for occasional site visits and meetings off site
