Description

The company makes Moen water products, and this role leads the Valve and Cartridge product line inside the Moen water brand at the Deerfield, IL campus.

Valves and cartridges sit inside every Moen faucet, shower, and bath product. They need to assemble easily, seal well, and feel right to the user over years of use, so they underpin the company's water control systems and the wider water product range.

You will shape strategy by setting the mix of products, sales channels, and pricing to meet customer and business needs. You will propose direction, own the roadmap, and see your choices reach store shelves and homes.

The role needs curiosity, empathy, and careful analysis of market trends and customer experience. You will work with cross-functional partners to build strategies, share goals, and grow market presence over time. You need solid business sense plus enough technical depth to become the subject expert on valves, cartridges, and the products they connect to.

The ideal candidate has strong product management skills and a working knowledge of fluid-control technology and consumer products. You can turn customer insight, competitor analysis, and technical requirements into a clear product strategy, and you work with engineering to deliver reliable, innovative, market-leading plumbing or fluid-control solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build strategic product plans that align performance, pricing, and supply chain with long-term goals for steady revenue and market growth.
  • Guide new product development and innovation through the full stage-gate process with cross-functional teams.
  • Build relationships with external customers, share insights, and help find category growth opportunities.
  • Work with Revenue Growth Management, Sales, Analytics, and Finance to understand channel dynamics and assess pricing strategies.
  • Contribute views on go-to-market approaches and help steer product and business decisions.
  • Work with Operations, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality, to support launches and track ongoing product performance.
  • Represent the customer by building a detailed understanding of their needs, preferences, and market trends.
  • Explain product strategies and priorities clearly to a range of stakeholders.
  • Support sales teams through training, industry events, and regular engagement with partners and associations.
  • Work with Brand, Channel Marketing, Digital, and Commercialization to co-create marketing materials and promotions.
  • Check product communications for clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Train and advise internal teams and external partners on product offerings and updates.
  • Keep regular, supportive contact with field sales teams, including travel of roughly 15%.
  • Take on other projects and responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of product management, product development, or engineering leadership experience with high-volume manufactured products. Engineering leaders ready to move into product management will be strongly considered.
  • Experience managing plumbing, kitchen and bath, or water delivery products, or other valve, cartridge, and fluid-control technologies, including thermostatic and pressure-balancing mechanisms.
  • Understanding of sealing technologies, including elastomeric and ceramic components, and of flow performance, cavitation, acoustic and noise reduction, and durability.
  • Experience with high-volume manufactured products in plumbing, appliance, HVAC/R, water heating, beverage dispensing, irrigation, water treatment, pool and spa, or automotive fluid control.
  • You can turn customer needs, competitor analysis, and engineering requirements into product strategy, roadmap priorities, and launches run through a stage-gate or equivalent process.
  • You have worked closely with market-facing roles such as Sales and with engineering to bring a quality product portfolio to market.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills that support collaborative decisions.
  • Technical aptitude to understand the engineering, functionality, and internal mechanics of the product, plus financial business acumen to build business cases and derive market insights and product trends for portfolio success.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%.
  • Preferred qualifications: MBA or advanced degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Preferred qualifications: experience developing high-volume consumer, commercial, or automotive products with fluid control, including thermostatic and pressure-compensating valves, cartridges, elastomeric and ceramic seals, flow regulation, noise and cavitation management, and durability and lifecycle performance.
  • Preferred qualifications: background in building products, home improvement, or durable goods, and experience with both B2C and B2B product environments.
  • Preferred qualifications: familiarity with connected product technologies or smart home categories.
