Presales Systems Engineering - Summer 2027 Internship

The Presales Engineering Group supports the sales organization with technical work. Its engineers design communications solutions for sales engagements across the country, and systems engineers hold the technology and design responsibility for them.

This summer 2027 internship is a Presales Systems Engineering role. You will work alongside Communication Systems Engineers who design radio communication solutions, from concept through implementation, shaped by what each customer needs. Senior engineers help colleagues build individual and group skills, including mentoring junior systems engineers. Engineers are expected to act professionally and drive their own professional and technical development.

Responsibilities

• Work with sales, product development and project management to build technical strategies and write proposals that present the company's solutions to customers.
• Help design and plan customer solutions using advanced technologies, and give technical support throughout the presales phase.
• Handle coverage and antenna site selection, frequency planning, interference analysis, system architecture design, equipment selection, proposal writing, and presenting proposed solutions to customers.
• Help implement solutions as they were originally designed.
• Own all technical aspects of an assigned project from award until system acceptance.
• Handle implementation planning, system acceptance testing, coverage testing and system staging.
• Keep sales professionals and customers informed of the company's latest technology offerings and how they fit customer needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program with an expected graduation on or after December 2027, returning to school in Fall 2027.
• You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely. Work permit sponsorship from the employer is not available for this position.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated, and able to stay focused under pressure.
• Preferred: experience working with customers.
• Preferred: experience or knowledge of radio systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless, broadband, microwave, and/or networking.
• Preferred: experience or knowledge of communications networks such as MPLS, Ethernet and TCP/IP.
• Preferred: certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA, and/or Amateur Radio/HAM.

Conditions

Preferred candidates live in Massachusetts.

On-site, full-time, Monday to Friday.

Travel is under 10%.

Relocation is provided.
