Description

You will join the team supporting the Joint Navigation Warfare Center (JNWC) contract, helping the Department of Defense strengthen its positioning, navigation and timing advantage in navigation warfare (NAVWAR).

The team gives combatant and joint force commanders subject matter expertise on planning and running NAVWAR. That covers friendly and enemy NAVWAR order of battle and the positioning, navigation and timing successes and threats.

Responsibilities

  • Give executive-level insight into NAVWAR engineering support as the modeling and simulation subject matter expert.
  • Research and develop small form factor payloads that combine several functions for NAVWAR missions.
  • Build and analyze models of new algorithm concepts that produce distributed electronic sensing effects for NAVWAR payloads.
  • Apply electronic warfare signal processing algorithms to detect and identify threats so countermeasures can be used.
  • Develop systems that harden GPS against NAVWAR effects on blue force systems.
  • Develop RF hardware and software that bring electronic warfare, communications and radar missions into one small form factor payload.
  • Study heterogeneous sensing across platforms such as manned and unmanned systems, high altitude ISR and ALE, including approaches that use passive modes.
  • Design and carry out tests of the RF and other hardware parts of software defined radio frameworks.
  • Reverse engineer existing NAVWAR signal processing solutions.
  • Synthesize, allocate and derive system requirements so the architecture is fully defined, clearly understood and meets mission needs.
  • Help shape and deliver client requirements for RF solutions, including services, products, technologies and capabilities for airborne mission environments.
  • Run hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) tests on systems that denial or deception of PNT/GPS could affect.
  • Support technical reviews of vendor hardware and software products and deliverables, plus interface development and algorithms and models for simulation.
  • Keep up with current state-of-the-art signal processing algorithms.
  • Work with customers inside and outside JNWC to fit solutions into many different applications and use cases.
  • Debug, test and validate capabilities using unit tests and scenarios reported by JNWC or its customers.

  • Required: You have a solid grounding in technical principles and data-driven methods.
  • Required: You have a proven record of using technical expertise to solve complex engineering problems and produce data-driven insight.
  • Desired: A Professional Engineer (PE) license, for senior-level roles.
