Description

The team builds iGaming games under the Playradar division, covering casino games, virtual sports, live betting products, 24/7 experiences and other sports-inspired gaming concepts.

The products combine sports content, gameplay mechanics and modern technology to change how players experience sports and casino entertainment.

The role is based in the Vienna office and puts you alongside experienced engineers, designers and product leaders, where you help shape technical and creative choices and build scalable frontend experiences for a growing games portfolio.

The company is a sports technology firm that serves more than 1,700 sports federations, media outlets, betting operators and consumer platforms in 120 countries.

Hiring steps: a short online chat with a talent partner, a take-home technical task, a technical interview with the hiring manager and/or another interviewer to discuss your solution, a final interview with the team, then feedback and an offer if successful.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and improve high-quality frontend features, user interfaces and gameplay experiences that are reliable, scalable and engaging.
  • Turn product and game design requirements into sound technical solutions, giving useful feedback and asking questions that lead to better results.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code that keeps defects low, keeps operations efficient and makes future growth easier.
  • Own technical decisions in your area, propose improvements, and take part in planning, architecture discussions and retrospectives.

Requirements

  • Experience in game development, casino games, virtual sports, betting products or other real-time or high-availability entertainment systems.
  • Solid professional software engineering background, mainly in frontend development and production user-facing applications.
  • Strong skills in modern JavaScript or TypeScript and hands-on work with React, Angular or Vue.
  • Experience with WebGL rendering and animation frameworks, especially PixiJS and GSAP, to build fast interactive interfaces and gameplay screens.
  • Good grasp of component-based architecture, clean code, reusable UI patterns and frontend design principles.
  • Experience building, maintaining and running responsive, accessible and performant web applications in production.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, browser APIs, state management and modern frontend build tools.
  • Experience connecting frontend applications to REST APIs, real-time services or event-driven backends.
  • Familiarity with Git and modern workflows, including code reviews and pull requests.
  • Understanding of frontend performance tuning, cross-browser compatibility and debugging.
  • Practical experience with automated frontend testing, including unit, integration and end-to-end tests.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for frontend applications.
  • Ability to work independently and own features from technical design through to production.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a good balance of quality, speed, usability and maintainability.
  • Ability to explain ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues, including designers and product managers.
  • Willingness to mentor less experienced engineers and help the team apply strong frontend practices.
  • Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Proactive attitude and a habit of continuous learning.
  • Experience with graphics, animation, canvas/WebGL or interactive gameplay interfaces.
  • Exposure to mobile-first development, responsive design systems and accessibility best practices.
  • Experience making architecture and technical decisions for scalable, maintainable frontend applications.
  • Ability to design frontend solutions that support performance, reliability, observability and long-term maintainability.
  • Setting the standard through code quality, reviews, testing discipline and sound frontend practices.
  • Supporting the team with technical guidance, mentoring and practical decision-making.
  • Practical experience using AI tools in software development.
  • Ability to critically assess AI-generated code for correctness, security and maintainability.
  • Understanding of the strengths and limits of AI-assisted development.
  • Comfortable folding AI tools into daily engineering work to raise productivity and quality.
