Senior Digital Engineer

This senior role sits in agile teams that handle application support and change work. You will cover the full software development lifecycle and deliver high quality changes to the company's systems and platforms.

You will help set technical direction and support others in producing strong solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead technically, make sound decisions for the team and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Design, build and change complex software in line with agreed standards and good practice.
• Estimate engineering work and guide colleagues so delivery stays efficient.
• Debug and test complex code quickly and thoroughly to keep it reliable and performing well.
• Mentor junior engineers by sharing knowledge and helping them grow in their roles.

Requirements

• Strong JavaScript skills with a strong focus on React JS are essential.
• The following are ideal:
• Hands-on IT experience building and supporting enterprise web applications used by customers and staff.
• Experience building user interfaces with a sharp eye for design and usability.
• Strong JavaScript fundamentals: object models, DOM manipulation, event handling, data structures, algorithms and JSX.
• Current hands-on use of ReactJS tooling such as Flux, Redux, Create React App and data structure libraries.
• Solid grasp of RESTful APIs and token-based authentication such as JWT.
• Extensive knowledge of front-end technologies, including HTML/HTML5, XML, DHTML, CSS/CSS3, SASS, LESS, JavaScript, React JS, Redux, Flex, jQuery, JSON and Bootstrap.
• Familiarity with tools such as Node, NPM, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience testing performance with frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library, and tuning performance and memory with relevant tools.

Conditions

Hybrid working from the Bexhill or Leicester locations, with days in the office and at home agreed with your recruiter.
