Material Process Developer Hot Shaping

This role focuses on hot shaping within material process development.

Responsibilities

• Turn the CT Technology and Operations strategy into a material process development plan centred on hot shaping.
• Standardise the process landscape and drive its continuous improvement.
• Own and grow a modern process portfolio, including specifications, capability analysis and the introduction of new material-related production processes.
• Lead cost optimisation and digitalisation work, including the use of data and AI in material process development.
• Coordinate cross-functional, multi-site teams at key interfaces: material and product industrialisation, quality and compliance. Support test method development.
• Work with R&D, research institutions, universities and startups on calendering and hot shaping process development, simulation and product performance gains.

Requirements

• Master's degree in engineering, materials science or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years in process development, material science or manufacturing operations.
• Hands-on knowledge of compounding technologies and rubber process technology.
• Strong grasp of hot shaping methods such as calendering, extrusion and moulding.
• A record of delivering technical projects to completion.
• First-level leadership experience leading technical teams or people, with LPT certification or an equivalent.
• Experience with process simulation, modelling and digital tools in material processing.
• Understanding of data analytics, AI and digitalisation in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methods such as Lean, Six Sigma or similar.
• Background in quality assurance, compliance and specification development.
• A track record of cost reduction and process standardisation.
• Experience working with R&D departments, research institutions or academic partners.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work effectively across functional teams and across multiple geographic locations.
