The company is a global media and entertainment business with three segments: studios, direct-to-consumer, and TV media.
The direct-to-consumer division builds the apps and services behind streaming products on connected TVs, set-top boxes, phones, tablets, consoles, PCs and other streaming devices.
The Delivery & Deploy team sits in Release and Delivery Engineering and runs the last stage of the software delivery platform: the pipelines, tooling and automation that move a passing build to a safe production release.
The team supports more than 2,000 engineers across the streaming products, offering a simple, reliable route to production that is testable, repeatable and self-service.
This is a broad, senior hands-on role for someone who can take messy platform problems from first design to production, and who is judged as much on their effect on other engineers as on their own output.
Responsibilities
Set the architecture roadmap for delivery and deployment capabilities, decide when to build versus extend, and keep the platform scaling with the organization.
Lead complex cross-team work from design through production readiness: write design documents, align stakeholders and own delivery.
Run critical platform programs, such as disaster recovery and resilience planning for CI/CD infrastructure and rolling out automated release safety checks across teams.
Build and improve CI/CD tooling, including pipelines, build systems, artifact management, release automation and developer interfaces that let teams control how their software is built and shipped.
Set operational standards covering on-call, incident response playbooks, gameday facilitation and documentation that makes complex systems easy to understand.
Mentor engineers by reviewing their designs, pairing on hard problems and showing what senior and staff ownership looks like.
Represent the team in cross-organization technical forums, vendor relationships and architecture reviews.
Requirements
5+ years leading technical direction of complex systems, including guiding other engineers. Make sound calls on building new versus extending existing systems, and persuade teams and stakeholders with data and facts.
Able to take an ambiguous problem through architecture, stakeholder alignment, implementation and production deployment without needing it broken down for you.
Proven cross-team influence, including driving adoption of platform capabilities in engineering organizations that did not report to you.
Strong communicator who writes clear design docs, presents to non-technical audiences and leaves engineers better off after code reviews.
5+ years building and operating CI/CD systems, with depth on both continuous integration and continuous deployment.
5+ years with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins, or comparable systems, including reusable pipeline patterns and enforcing organizational standards at scale.
3+ years hands-on with build systems such as Gradle, Maven, Bazel, npm/yarn, Rush or Make, with a solid grasp of dependency trees, reproducible builds and build performance at scale.
Experience with artifact management platforms such as JFrog Artifactory or ECR, or equivalent, covering lifecycle policies, repository governance, access control and promotion across environments.
5+ years with AWS, including EKS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch, IAM and networking, and a strong understanding of how these services combine into production delivery infrastructure.
3+ years with IaC tools such as CDK, Terraform or CloudFormation, designing reusable, maintainable infrastructure patterns rather than only writing templates.
5+ years hands-on with Kubernetes (K8s / AWS EKS), including deployment lifecycle management, rollout strategies, workload identity and cluster-level troubleshooting.
5+ years as a software developer in at least one of Go or TypeScript (strongly preferred), Kotlin or Java, or Python, with a solid grasp of how applications are structured, built and run in production.
Strong computer science fundamentals and a record of building highly reliable automation and tooling.
Experience running GitHub at organizational scale: Actions workflows, org-level policies, OIDC or federated identity integration and security controls.
Hands-on operational experience with on-call rotations, incident response, postmortem facilitation, playbook writing and gameday execution.
2+ years collaborating with remote teams across geographies and time zones.
Excellent written communication, especially for technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
Good to have: progressive delivery patterns such as canary releases, blue/green deployments and automated rollback triggers.
Good to have: observability in a delivery setting, using metrics, traces and logs to track pipeline health, failure rates and developer experience, with hands-on Prometheus and Grafana to instrument, observe and alert on platform metrics.
Good to have: experience measuring developer experience with DORA metrics such as deployment frequency, lead time and change failure rate.
Good to have: serverless and Lambda platform patterns on AWS.
