Description

The company's defense, space and security unit is hiring a Level 4 Lead Systems Engineer based in Hazelwood, MO.

You will set the system architecture across the program's integrated product teams, working with them from first design through product verification. That includes managing requirements, interfaces and behaviors.

You will sit on the program's model-based systems engineering team and refine modeling practices alongside the Lead Model Architect. You will also help build and adopt open architecture standards.

Responsibilities

  • Direct cross-functional engineers in building one Weapon System Segment architecture that meets program commitments, including design reviews based on the model.
  • Lead a cross-functional team in defining and keeping current the segment's requirements, interfaces, behaviors and verification requirements.
  • Use your systems engineering and MBSE background to define, put in place and maintain the MBSE approach that meets the customer's digital engineering requirements.
  • Connect the segment to the other Weapon System segments.
  • Own delivery of the integrated segment architecture model.
  • Plan, design, build and verify complex systems with interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Set up and show traceability between tools in the Digital Engineering Environment.
  • Guide the team as it adopts open architecture standards.
  • Travel may be required for up to 10% of your time, within the US or abroad, depending on business needs.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science or computer science from an accredited program.
  • Bring 7+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent mix of technical education and experience.
  • Bring 3+ years working in MSOSA (Magic Systems of Systems Architecture).
  • Have experience in systems engineering, covering system architecture, requirements and interface development and allocation, and verification and validation.
  • Preferred: experience across many technical domains and life cycle phases.
  • Preferred: experience on proprietary programs.
  • Preferred: experience with Mission Systems architectures and Open Mission Systems (OMS) and/or the Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI).
  • Preferred: experience with military aircraft.
  • You must hold an active U.S. Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. A clearance that has been active within the past 24 months counts as active.
  • You must be able to obtain Special Program Access. The U.S. Government allows only U.S. citizens for this.
  • You must meet U.S. export control rules, so you must be a "U.S. Person" as defined in 22 C.F.R. §120.62: a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee or asylee.
  • Education level: bachelor's degree or equivalent. No language requirements.
