Description

The company modifies commercial aircraft through its EASA modifications team within global services.

This senior project engineering role sits in the connectivity team, which designs, certifies and fits antenna systems for fast onboard wi-fi.

You will work with global engineering and programme management staff across several time zones.

The role is based in Dublin, Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Drive day-to-day engineering delivery across every discipline working on aircraft connectivity.
  • Merge each discipline's task plan into one project engineering plan that keeps disciplines aligned and in the right sequence.
  • Serve as the main engineering contact for Programme Management, functional engineering, the Office of Airworthiness, suppliers and customers where needed.
  • Work with customers, external vendors, MROs, regulators and internal teams to produce engineering solutions that beat expectations, on schedule and on budget.
  • Give independent advice so modification projects produce safe, compliant and practical solutions.
  • Find, assess and manage project-level engineering risks, issues and opportunities (RIO), using input from the discipline DLs.
  • Prepare for and support major engineering gates and reviews, including ITCM, PDR, CDR and equivalent lifecycle milestones, and make sure each discipline is ready.
  • Track engineering progress against plan and report on project technical health, risks and support needs.
  • Own the on-time delivery of engineering tasks that support project milestones and gates.
  • Occasional domestic or international travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing technology), computer science, data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry, or a non-US equivalent closely tied to the role's scope.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in the aviation or aerospace industry, or a related field.
  • Speak and write English fluently.
  • Preferred: have acted as the engineering contact for multi-discipline functions and external stakeholders.
  • Preferred: have strong working knowledge of the engineering activities involved in modifying commercial aircraft.
  • Preferred: manage and coordinate engineering project tasks, with enough technical understanding of aircraft modifications to see how timing affects dependencies.
  • Preferred: show working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements, including (E)TSO, CS-25, CFR Part 25 and Part 21J design organisations.
  • Preferred: work across several programmes with differing requirement levels, efficiently and effectively.
  • Preferred: hold a recognised aeronautical or aerospace engineering degree; other internationally recognised engineering degrees are considered based on technical knowledge and experience.

Conditions

Hybrid role: some onsite work at the Dublin location may be required, at the hiring team's discretion, and this could change in future.

Locally hired position: pay and benefits are set locally and are not part of the US-based payroll.

The company will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.

Relocation assistance is not negotiable for this role, so candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

No security clearance is required.

This is not a shift worker role (Ireland).

This position is not contingent upon program award.

Language requirements are listed as not applicable, though English fluency is required above.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and annual incentive plans.
  • Continuous learning to build the approach and skills for whatever comes next.
  • Tools and flexibility to make a meaningful impact in your own way.
  • An inclusive culture where you are valued for who you are and encouraged to speak up.
  • Adoption and parental leave options.
  • 25 days off plus public holidays and a winter break between Christmas and New Year.
  • Pension plan with up to 10% employer contribution.
  • Company-paid Irish Life medical plan.
  • Short-term sickness: 100% pay for the first 26 weeks.
  • Long-term sickness: 66.67% of annual salary from the 27th week.
  • Life insurance at 6x annual salary.
  • Learning Together Programme to support ongoing personal and career development.
  • Access to well-being programmes, tools and incentives.
