Senior Java Developer - Vice President

Description

This full-time role sits in the Technology area, within Applications Development. You will shape the architecture of global reference data solutions used by clients around the world.

You will build end-to-end microservices in a global engineering team, bringing deep Java skills to modern, cloud-ready applications. You will also help set engineering standards for platforms that run the company's critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end microservices as a senior Java developer on a global engineering team.
• Lead architecture decisions for new microservices that serve global reference data across the company.
• Work with teams on site and off site to deliver coordinated, high-quality results.
• Bring in current coding standards and software architecture practices to raise engineering quality.
• Adopt modern development tools that keep code delivery secure and efficient.
• Pass on technical knowledge and mentor engineers within your team and beyond.

Requirements

• Have 6+ years of hands-on Java development, with a strong command of Java 1.8 or later.
• Apply practical experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA and Spring Security to build robust applications.
• Design and manage data-driven systems on relational databases.
• Design and implement REST APIs that scale and are easy to maintain.
• Apply working knowledge of messaging technology such as JMS or Kafka.
• Deploy and manage applications on a cloud platform such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Write secure, well-tested code using test-driven development, including JUnit and integration testing.
• Communicate clearly, work independently and balance competing priorities.
• Beneficial: experience with NoSQL databases alongside relational systems.
• Beneficial: familiarity with GraphQL for API design and implementation.
• Beneficial: hands-on experience building single-page applications with Angular or React.
• Beneficial: working knowledge of Spring Batch, Spring Integration or Apache Camel.
• Beneficial: experience building UI screens with Spring MVC, JSP or JavaScript.

Conditions

Full-time position.

Hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely each week.

Salary range of $120,800.00 to $170,800.00 at the primary location.
