Description

The company builds IT solutions and services for healthcare providers, aiming for accessible, high-quality and sustainable care.

This is a hybrid Lead Quantitative UX Researcher role based in Boston, reporting to the Principal Design Researcher, Senior Manager.

You will sit inside specific product areas and work with the Behavioral Data & Product (BDP) team to show how behavioral data should shape everyday product choices with product, design and engineering colleagues.

You will stay with the team to learn why users act as they do and help decide what gets built next, rather than handing over findings from outside the team.

You will be the go-to expert on behavioral data, showing teammates what it can do and helping them use it well.

The Data and Ecosystem Platform subdivision works on data access, integration and interoperability across the healthcare ecosystem. Within the User Experience team, you will support product areas whose priorities may shift over time.

Most of your time goes to hands-on research and exploration. You will also turn proven methods, cohort definitions, dashboards, study designs and tracking standards into reusable resources for other teams.

Responsibilities

  • Plan research with product, design, engineering and research partners by setting research questions, hypotheses, study designs and success measures.
  • Analyze user and customer behavior using funnels and drop-off, retention and cohort comparisons, journey and path analysis, behavioral segments, controlled experiments, surveys and statistical models.
  • Use Amplitude, SQL, and R or Python to join data sources, run significance tests and models, and analyze behavioral, survey and mixed-method data.
  • Find patterns specific to segments and specialties that deepen the organization's understanding of its varied users and customers.
  • Combine quantitative results with qualitative and survey findings to explain user behavior and what drives it.
  • Run qualitative studies such as user interviews, usability tests, concept tests, diary studies and contextual inquiry.
  • Define meaningful cohorts and segments and turn them into participant lists, screeners and outreach criteria.
  • Work with the BDP and Engineering teams on cross-product analyses, event taxonomies, tracking plans, data quality and centralized user profile use cases.
  • Build clear dashboards, reports, readouts and recommendations that technical and non-technical stakeholders can use for product and design decisions.
  • Use AI tools responsibly to speed up and improve behavioral and survey analysis, and build transparent, repeatable AI-assisted research workflows.
  • Take behavioral research opportunities from first question through analysis, recommendations and product decisions.
  • Bring behavioral insights into product planning, design critiques, experiments and post-launch reviews.
  • Work with designers to turn findings into design recommendations and check whether experience changes deliver the intended results.
  • Turn effective methods, templates, dashboards and study designs into reusable tools and processes with the BDP team.
  • Write case studies and practical examples showing how behavioral data and Amplitude can inform product decisions.
  • Share knowledge on behavioral analytics and help shape research standards and practices across the organization.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of industry experience in quantitative UX research or behavioral data science, with deep behavioral data work and hands-on experimentation.
  • Proficiency in SQL, R or Python, and statistical methods including significance testing and modeling.
  • Experience with Amplitude or comparable product analytics platforms.
  • Experience using AI tools in daily research to speed up and improve behavioral and survey analysis, and to build responsible, repeatable workflows.
  • Working competence in qualitative methods such as user interviewing, usability testing and concept testing.
  • Working understanding of usability heuristics and core design principles, including information hierarchy, chart selection and progressive disclosure, as applied to dashboards, reports and self-service tools.
  • Ability to move between technical rigor and clear communication with stakeholders.
  • A portfolio or work samples showing problem framing, study design, analysis and how findings changed product decisions.
  • Preferred: a background in behavioral science, behavioral economics, the social sciences or a related field.
  • Preferred: experience in healthcare, enterprise software or other complex operational domains.

Conditions

Base salary range: $153,000 to $259,000, set by job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographic market rates.

Eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus, a variable compensation plan and equity plans depends on role eligibility.
