Description

The Cloud Platforms and Solutions team within the company Defence and Space DIGITAL is hiring a junior technical project manager for hybrid cloud work in Getafe, Ottobrunn or Manching.

The team builds, rolls out and runs cloud solutions for restricted and unrestricted use cases in Digital. These cover public cloud (for example AWS or a sovereign cloud) and on-premise platforms (for example Containers/OpenShift and IaaS). The role supports the shift of infrastructure offerings and the company's move to newer ways of working.

The position is permanent and can be part-time (at least 80% per week, with an adapted scope of tasks) or full-time.

The company is a long-term employer that asks everyone to watch for compliance risks and act with integrity, as a basis for its success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of cloud projects from opportunity through to Entry-into-Service, and be accountable for time, scope, cost and quality, in line with internal and external rules.
  • Manage the projects that build and evolve internal container platforms such as OpenShift and Vanilla Kubernetes, plus the IaaS infrastructure.
  • Coordinate connectivity with external public cloud environments.
  • Gather business requirements with business partners and make sure all parties have clearly stated and agreed them.
  • Plan, allocate and manage the project budget.
  • Lead the project team through each phase, including staff from other functions in matrix organisations.
  • Work closely with the Product Manager, technical and developer teams and the Service Delivery Manager throughout the project.
  • Manage partners and suppliers, and handle risks, opportunities and internal or external contracts.
  • Prepare release plans and prioritise epics.
  • Track progress and actuals, and report to the Steering Committee and stakeholders.
  • Follow the ADGPP project lifecycle (Waterfall or Agile). Keep project documentation under the official Digital PM guidelines, and manage the project in Unified Planning (UP): request resources, update costs, write reports, track progress and adjust the schedule.
  • Hand the project over smoothly to service, including knowledge transfer and defect reporting.
  • Store lessons learned and documentation in the official Digital repository so future projects can use them.
  • Run the project efficiently by using synergies, tailoring, automation and removing duplication.

Requirements

  • An apprenticeship or a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, with an IT focus.
  • Project management experience with Waterfall and Agile.
  • A solid technical understanding to talk with technical teams and stakeholders, mainly about cloud native applications.
  • Prior experience in a programming language, infrastructure or another IT field is ideal but not required. You should be willing to learn and grow in these areas.
  • A collaborative, self-driven and proactive, solution-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Fluent English is mandatory. German, Spanish or French is a plus.

Conditions

Permanent contract, part-time (minimum 80% per week, adapted scope) or full-time.

Based in Getafe, Ottobrunn or Manching.

Equal opportunities apply to all applicants regardless of background, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation or religion.

Benefits

  • Flexible working arrangements are supported where possible.
