Customer-Facing Senior Project Manager (f/m/d) – Retail Industry

Description

You will join a specialised team of architects and project managers with deep retail industry expertise. The team delivers some of the most complex SAP programmes in the German retail market and is known for its structured approach to large-scale transformation.

The team sits within SAP Customer Engagement & Adoption, the consulting arm of the company. Its Industry Division Retail helps German retail customers get value from SAP Cloud solutions quickly and in a lasting way. Precise implementation and durable customer results are the measures of success.

The company connects customers, partners, employees and thought leaders across a global network. It builds enterprise applications and business AI, and for over 50 years organisations have used its software to run finance, procurement, HR, supply chain and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• You own large-scale SAP transformation programmes for retail customers from start to finish.
• You are accountable for scope, budget, resource planning and management of stakeholders at executive level.
• You run SAP implementations using the SAP Activate Agile methodology.
• You work with an agent-led toolchain made up of SAP Cloud ALM for project tracking, SAP Signavio for process intelligence and SAP LeanIX for enterprise architecture.
• You lead interdisciplinary project teams, develop their people and support their professional growth.
• You run presales work, manage proposals and build relationships with customers at decision-making level.
• You help shape and refine the team's approach to delivery.

Requirements

• You have at least eight years of SAP consulting experience, several of them in a leading project management role.
• You have delivered complex, large-scale SAP projects in the retail sector.
• You communicate clearly and confidently at every level, including the C-suite, in German and English.
• You build trust with customers and stakeholders through consistency and directness, and you handle conflict well while keeping projects on track in complex settings.
• You have deep SAP knowledge and end-to-end process expertise in retail and wholesale.
• You have managed project scope, budgets and resources.
• Certification in PMP, PRINCE2 or SAP Activate methodology is a plus.
• You use AI tools daily, including Agentic AI and context engineering, and you check the quality of AI-generated results.
• You help teams adopt AI tools and use AI-assisted automation to improve delivery.
• Pre-sales experience and long-term customer relationship management also form part of your profile.
