Description

The company is a global professional services firm with over 22,000 people in more than 60 countries, working across real estate, infrastructure, energy and natural resources, and it offers programme, project, cost, asset and commercial management, controls, procurement, net zero and digital services.

The company is majority-owned by CBRE Group, Inc., the world's largest commercial real estate services and investment firm, with partners holding a significant minority stake. The two firms work together to offer clients programme, project and cost management.

The team is looking for an experienced MEP Senior Project Manager to support large-scale construction projects. You will need an engineering background with strong mechanical, electrical or MEP knowledge, and you will need to think like a consultant and have experience with owner's representation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage architects, engineers and supply chains so projects stay compliant.
  • Analyse, track and manage critical milestones to prevent schedule slips.
  • Check that sound project governance, processes and systems are in use, and apply best practice on every project.
  • Monitor several construction projects at once to confirm approved design standards are applied correctly.
  • Manage supplier interfaces through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.
  • Keep project information flowing across the team through regular meetings and written updates.
  • Forecast and update key milestones and budget.
  • Manage and monitor local design teams against commission criteria.
  • Give technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders.
  • Respond quickly to RFIs from the field.
  • Advise on cost control, value engineering and constructability where needed.
  • Independently review status reports, drawing submittals, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers.
  • Help build strong client relationships that create new opportunities.
  • Advise project teams on approaches that meet both client and company objectives.
  • Capture key information and lessons from each project.
  • Find ways to improve internal systems and processes.
  • Produce formal project status reports and other reports as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or a construction-related field.
  • Postgraduate experience in mechanical or MEP engineering, covering both design and site work.
  • Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and experience.
  • Strong organisational and management skills, and the ability to work well with the wider team.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore and construction project management tools.
  • A project management qualification such as PMP is a plus.
  • Postgraduate degree in engineering, construction management, architecture or a related field is a plus.

Conditions

SOX control responsibilities may form part of the role and must be followed where they apply.

On-site presence and requirements may change depending on client needs.

The company is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and encourages applications from all parts of the community.

Speculative or unsolicited CVs sent from agencies outside the preferred supplier list, or without following due process, will be treated as direct applications.

Benefits

  • The company supports a healthy, productive and flexible working environment that respects work-life balance.
